Overlord: The Multiverse Chapter 290

"Now then," I said, my voice calm yet firm. "Let’s bring the girl back."

Akaza blinked in confusion, his brow furrowing slightly. He didn’t yet know who this "girl" was, but I could see the faintest flicker of hope in his eyes.

The task ahead wasn’t simple. The woman I was about to resurrect had died centuries ago—800 years, to be exact. Her body no longer existed, which meant I would need to go beyond conventional magic to restore her. I reached out mentally.

Give me a hand, Death.

"Of course, dear," Death replied, her voice resonating in my mind like an ancient melody.

I raised my hand, channeling the immense power that surged through me. The amphitheater’s already ominous atmosphere grew heavier as the air crackled with energy. I began to chant the incantation for my super-tier magic.

Super-tier magic was the pinnacle of Yggdrasil’s arcane arts, a power so immense that most players could only use it once before a long cooldown. But I was anything but ordinary. I wasn’t bound by the limitations of a normal player. My strength allowed me to wield super-tier magic multiple times in quick succession.

The amphitheater trembled as the first wave of magic coursed through the air, a towering pillar of light erupting from the ground. It bathed the space in an ethereal glow, casting long shadows that danced across the stone walls.

Akaza shielded his eyes, the sheer intensity of the light overwhelming him. Mare and Aura looked on in awe, while Albedo’s expression remained composed, though I could sense the admiration she held for my power.

I raised my other hand, channeling the second casting of super-tier magic. The pillar of light grew brighter, its glow so intense that it seemed to pierce the heavens. The ground beneath us vibrated, and the very fabric of reality seemed to bend under the weight of the spell.

Finally, I unleashed the third and final wave. The light surged upward, reaching its peak as it engulfed the entire amphitheater. For a moment, everything was silent—no sound, no movement, just the blinding radiance of my magic. Then, as the light began to fade, a figure started to take shape at the center of the spell.

Akaza’s breath hitched as he stared at the glowing form. The woman who had appeared was delicate, her figure slender and graceful. Her long, dark hair framed a face that radiated serenity, even in her unconscious state. She was clad in simple, traditional clothing, and her presence exuded an aura of purity and warmth.

It was Koyuki—Akaza’s fiancée from his human life.

Akaza didn’t recognize her immediately. He stared at her, his expression a mixture of confusion and awe. Slowly, his hands moved to his face, and his eyes began to glisten. For the first time in centuries, tears welled up and streamed down his cheeks.

"What... what is this?" Akaza murmured, his voice trembling. He touched his face, staring at his wet fingertips as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. "Why... am I crying?"

I stepped closer to him, my gaze steady. "That’s Koyuki," I said simply. "The woman from your dreams. The one who held your heart before you became what you are now."

Akaza’s eyes widened as he turned to look at her again. He took a hesitant step forward, then another, until he was standing just a few feet away from her. His hand trembled as he reached out, as if afraid that she might vanish if he got too close.

"Koyuki..." he whispered, the name escaping his lips like a fragile memory. His voice cracked with emotion as he knelt beside her.

She was unconscious, her breathing soft and steady. It would take time for her to recover fully from the resurrection spell. At least a day, if not longer. But she was here. She was real.

Akaza lowered his head, his shoulders shaking as he wept silently. I could feel the weight of centuries of pain and regret lifting from him, replaced by a fragile hope.

"She’ll need rest," I said gently, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Resurrections of this nature are taxing, even for someone as skilled as me. Give her time, and she’ll wake up."

Akaza nodded, unable to speak. He simply stayed there, kneeling beside her, his tears falling freely as he watched over her.

Behind us, Albedo, Aura, and Mare remained silent, observing the scene with varying expressions. Aura looked touched, her eyes shimmering with emotion. Mare fidgeted nervously, clearly unsure of how to process what he was seeing. Albedo, ever composed, gave me a look of quiet approval.

"You did well, my lord," she said softly. "Such power... and such kindness. It’s no wonder Nazarick flourishes under your rule."

I gave her a small smile before turning my attention back to Akaza. "Take care of her," I said. "She’s your second chance. Don’t waste it."

Akaza looked up at me, his eyes filled with gratitude. "I won’t," he said, his voice firm despite the tears still streaming down his face. "Thank you... for giving her back to me."
