Overlord: The Multiverse Chapter 333

Muzanette

Muzanette lounged on her throne within the depths of the Infinity Castle, her crimson eyes half-lidded as she listened to the echoes of the shifting fortress. The air around her pulsed with power, and yet she found herself restless.

She already knew what was coming.

Through the remnants of her cells within Daki, she had witnessed everything—the way that foolish girl had offered herself so easily, the way Alex had taken her, and the way his fangs had marked her as his own.

How dare she...?

Muzanette’s grip on the armrest of her throne tightened slightly before she forced herself to relax. No, this wasn’t anger. It wasn’t even disappointment. If anything, she found herself intrigued.

The idea of him subduing Daki in such a manner... it should have disgusted her, enraged her. But instead, all she could feel was a strange sense of satisfaction.

And now, Daki stood before her, looking both nervous and determined as she kneeled in submission.

Muzanette tilted her head, her expression unreadable. "Speak."

Daki hesitated, then took a deep breath. "Alex has given you a message."

At the sound of his name, something stirred deep within Muzanette, but she remained composed. "And what, exactly, does he wish to say?"

Daki swallowed. "He told me that I am forbidden from harming humans from now on."

A heavy silence filled the chamber. Muzanette didn’t move, didn’t blink, yet the atmosphere around her grew suffocating.

Daki clenched her hands into fists. "And not just me. He said that if you want to conquer the sun and surpass all limitations, you should stop harming humans as well. He... says he can give you the power to do it."

Muzanette narrowed her eyes.

Interesting.

Her lips curled into a cold, detached smile. "Is that so?"

Daki nodded quickly. "Yes. He knew about your goal. He knew that the reason you create demons and feed on humans is because you have yet to conquer the sun. And yet, he claims he can give you the power to do so without relying on humans."

Muzanette drummed her fingers against the armrest, pretending to consider the offer.

She already knew her answer.

This was everything she had been searching for.

For centuries, she had sought a way to overcome the sun, to rise beyond the limits of a demon, to transcend into something more. The humans she consumed, the demons she created—it had all been a means to an end.

And now he was offering her the solution on a silver platter.

A shiver of anticipation ran down her spine.

Still, she had a role to play.

She let out a low, unimpressed hum. "How bold of him to assume that I would entertain such a proposition."

Daki flinched slightly at her tone but remained firm. "Muzanette-sama... You saw it, didn’t you? He’s not someone who makes empty promises. If he says he can do it, then he can."

Muzanette leaned forward slightly, resting her chin on the back of her hand. "And why, pray tell, should I place my faith in him?"

Because you already do.

The thought whispered through her mind, unbidden and dangerous.

Daki hesitated, then spoke carefully. "Because he has no reason to lie. He doesn’t care about us. He doesn’t need to deceive you. If he’s offering this, it’s because he can deliver."

Muzanette let the words hang in the air for a moment before letting out a slow exhale.

"You are awfully confident in his words."

Daki straightened her posture. "Because I am his."

At that, Muzanette’s eyes darkened.

He was supposed to be mine. Muzanette thought.

The words burned at the tip of her tongue, but she held them back.

Instead, she allowed a smirk to grace her lips. "You truly are a foolish girl, Daki."

Daki lowered her head but said nothing.

Muzanette tapped her fingers idly. "And what of the rest of his message?"

Daki tensed slightly, as if bracing herself. "He also said... He will kill Doma and Hantengu."

For the first time, Muzanette actually blinked in mild surprise.

Then, she chuckled.

The sound was soft but sharp, like the edge of a knife.

"Oh?"

Daki nodded. "He wanted me to pass that on to you."

Muzanette reclined in her seat, her fingers tracing the armrest as she mulled over his words.

Doma and Hantengu...

She would be lying if she said she cared about their fates. They were useful, yes, but disposable. If Alex wanted them dead, then it simply meant she had to prepare for their inevitable demise.

And he didn’t even ask for permission.

A slow, dangerous smile spread across her lips.

"He truly is arrogant."

And I love that.

Muzanette closed her eyes for a moment, as if savoring the thought.

Then she finally rose from her throne, her elegant form towering over Daki.

"Very well," she said, her voice smooth and regal. "I shall consider his proposal."

Daki’s eyes lit up slightly, but Muzanette raised a hand to silence her before she could speak.

"But let me make one thing clear."

Her tone grew sharp, cold, and commanding.

"If I do accept, it will not be because of his words. It will be because I will do it so."

Daki bowed deeply. "Of course, Muzanette-sama."

Muzanette’s smirk softened just a fraction.

"Leave me."

Daki rose and turned to go, but before she could fully exit the chamber, Muzanette called out one last time.

"Daki."

Daki paused, looking back.

Muzanette’s expression was unreadable, but her voice carried an unmistakable weight.

"The reason why I didn’t kill you after you slept with my enemy is because you brought me this offer. But don’t repeat this; keep a distance from him."

Because I can’t hold myself back if you once again sleep with him.

Daki gave a firm nod. "Understood."

And with that, she was gone.
