Xie Yanshang focused on Su Zhiruan’s tone, expecting she would be depressed or despondent, given the significant upheaval in her family. To his surprise, Su Zhiruan didn’t show much emotional turmoil but sounded rather cheerful.
“Thank you for your concern, Doctor Xie. This is the first time anyone has cared about me!” As Su Zhiruan said this with cheerfulness, the Xie Yanshang on the other end was taken aback.
“I just asked casually; don’t overthink it.” Standing by the window, Xie Yanshang looked out at the vast expanse of grassland, negating what he had just said.
