Ji Yang felt as though her lungs were about to explode out of anger.
“Great! Lu, you can sit by the window today and have a good taste of the air!”
Lu Jingchen thought he pulled off a great stunt, but little did he know he had offended the chef.
Mu Siyin and Xiang Qiuci laughed at the scene. These two were acting like enemies.
In fact, Ji Yang had most of the groceries in her hands. Since Lu Jingchen intentionally did not help her with the things, Mu Siyin and Xiang Qiuci naturally had to help her with some of it.
Luckily, Lu Jingchen drove, so it was not a big deal.
When they finally arrived at Ji Yang’s house, she opened the door and let Mu Siyin and Xiang Qiuci enter first. Just as Lu Jingchen wanted to enter, Ji Yang rushed to walk in front of him.
Lu Jingchen’s temple twitched in anger. He waited until Ji Yang entered, and when he was about to step into the door frame, Ji Yang suddenly slammed the door at him, and he almost slammed his head onto the door.
Lu Jingchen was fuming.
He looked at the door and shouted, “Tomboy! Stop me from entering if you can!”
The groceries were all still in his hand.
As expected, the door opened in less than a minute. It was Mu Siyin who opened the door.
“Cuz, you are in someone else’s house right now. Can’t you control your temper? Yangyang will be cooking for us this afternoon. If you don’t want to end up hungry, just keep quiet when you enter.”
Lu Jingchen was obviously irritated. “I am polite! Look at how she treats me!”
Mu Siyin said in a low voice, “Qiuci is around now. Being petty won’t give her a good impression of you.”
Lu Jingchen quickly regained his composure upon hearing her words.
Mu Siyin was right. With Qiuci around, he had to maintain his chivalrous demeanor. There was no way he would let the tomboy destroy his image.
Then, the scene before the meal played out as so.
“Lu, wash the vegetables.”
“I don’t know how to.”
“Qiuci doesn’t know how to cook. She is definitely looking for someone who knows how to cook.”
“‘I’ll wash them!”
Everyone else was speechless.
“Lu, peel the potatoes.”
“I don’t know how to.”
“Qiuci…”
“I will peel it!”
Everyone remained silent.
“Lu, chop up the ribs.”
“I don’t know how to.”
“Want me to chop you up instead?”
“I will chop them!”
As usual, everyone else kept their mouth shut.
When the meal was finally ready, Lu Jingchen was so worn out that he was about to faint.
Mu Siyin was serving up the delicious-looking dishes as she gloated at Lu Jingchen, who was laying on the sofa. “Cuz, hurry! The meal is ready.”
Lu Jingchen gave out a long sigh. Why was it so difficult to have a meal?
Rather, why was it so hard to get a girlfriend?
He already had a tough time being single, and now, a tomboy had appeared out of nowhere to torture him.
Ji Yang’s culinary skills were really good. There were a total of six dishes and a soup with a good combination of meat and vegetables; none lacking in color or fragrance. Mu Siyin could not wait any longer and was the first to pick up her chopsticks.
“Yangyang, your cooking has improved again.”
Ji Yang replied, “Of course, I am not like you bunch who have people serving you all day.”
Xiang Qiuci laughed. “You’re the one who refuses to be served. You can’t blame anyone but yourself.”
Ji Yang kept quiet at Qiuci’s words.
Ji Yang was ordering Lu JIngchen around the whole time, so he got really famished after all the hard labor. He picked up his chopsticks and reached for a piece of sweet and sour rib before putting it straight into his mouth. His eyes were glistening as he chewed on the rib.
Who would expect that this tomboy could cook? Her cooking was even better than anything he had before.
He could not help himself from reaching for the second piece.
Seeing that Lu Jingchen was eating with relish, Mu Siyin raised her eyebrow and asked, “Cuz, Yangyang’s cooking is great, right?”
Lu Jingchen was about to nod in agreement, but his words changed as they reached his mouth. “It’s so-so.”
