Mu Siyin tried to hold back her tears as she looked at Lu Jingchen with a frown on her forehead. “Is there really no one else, Cuz?”
He lifted an eyebrow and shook his head gently. “There’s none for now. I’ve already reached out to those I can think of.”
Upon hearing this, she became annoyed. “What’s the matter with President Zhang? Does he still hold a grudge against me for standing him up? Is that why he’s playing us like this?”
Lu Jingchen frowned again. “I don’t think so. I know President Zhang very well. Something urgent must have come up.”
Disappointment washed over her face. “What do we do now?”
He felt guilty for not being able to help her. He quickly answered, “Let me go around later at night to see if anyone is interested. After all, your conditions are rather favorable.”
Mu Siyin nodded her head. “Okay. Thanks, Cuz.”
He gave a wide smile. “Don’t thank me. I won’t want them to alarm our aunt and cousin either.”
She nodded her head. “Alright. Let’s go back then.”
“Come, let’s go and grab some good food instead.”
The two then proceeded to head downstairs. Just as they got out of the elevator, Mu Siyin saw a familiar, well-built figure by the VIP corridor.
Mu Siyin’s nerves instantly took over, and she pulled Lu Jingchen aside.
Dumbfounded, he looked at her, speechless by what she had done. “What are you doing, Yinyin?”
“Shh…” She raised her finger, indicating for him to remain silent.
Lu Jingchen followed her gaze curiously and saw Shi Beiyu walking into the VIP corridor with a few men. It was the way that the men carried themselves that caught his eye.
Upon a closer look, he was shocked.
These men were all bigshots from the capital, especially the one with a dominating presence walking next to Shi Beiyu. He was always seen on national television as he was the infamous General Leng Jiuchen.
Seeing her act this way bothered Lu Jingchen. Why did Mu Siyin have to hide from them if she was Shi Beiyu’s lover?
As the men disappeared from their sight, Mu Siyin quickly pulled him out and ran towards the exit.
“Eh? Why are you acting like a thief, Yinyin?” He gave up trying to understand her.
She let out a sigh of relief. “It’s because of Shi Beiyu! Didn’t you see the perverts around him?”
The corner of Lu Jingchen’s eye twitched in confusion. Did she just say ‘perverts’?
However, it did make sense though. She must have meant that it was insane how rich and influential they were.
“Then, why did you run? Did you forget that you’re Shi Beiyu’s girlfriend?”
She immediately rolled her eyes when she heard this. “He warned me not to come here yesterday. He’ll be pissed to see me here.”
It was insane how controlling Shi Beiyu was!
“Let’s go and grab something to eat now.”
“Yeah, let’s get out of here as soon as possible.”
Mu Siyin and Lu Jingchen quickly scurried out of the place, not realizing that Shi Beiyu had long spotted them.
Shi Beiyu did not have the heart to call her out after seeing all the trouble she went through to hide.
As soon as he took his seat in the private room, Yan Ze walked towards him to give him a report. “Miss Mu and Young Master Lu have just left, Young Master.”
Shi Beiyu nodded. “Okay.”
Huo Sikai had just taken his seat when he noticed an unusual atmosphere around Shi Beiyu. He immediately shot his gorgeous eyes towards Yan Ze. “Who is Miss Mu and Young Master Lu, Yan Ze?”
Considering that his Master did not stop him, Yan Ze said with a smile, “Miss Mu is our Young Master’s new girlfriend.”
Upon hearing this, Huo Sikai cursed and looked in Si Beiyu’s direction as he shouted, “What is the meaning of this, Beibei? It’s one thing not to introduce her in the afternoon, but to do this twice a day? Since we’re already here, why can’t you let us see her? Why did you let her go with another man instead?”
