"At worst, I’ll take An Yin to the Bao Family!" Bao Cheng rubbed his temple, unable to think of any other solutions.
Jiang Keke listened to Bao Cheng’s words without any rebuttal.
"No, no." An Yin spoke up.
As she began, both Bao Cheng and Jiang Keke looked at her, faces full of curiosity.
"Why?" Bao Cheng raised an eyebrow.
"I’m too scared to go." Meeting the parents was something An Yin dared not even consider, especially since she and Bao Cheng weren’t actually a couple. It was definitely inappropriate.
An Yin’s timid nature was something Jiang Keke was aware of. Hearing her words, before Bao Cheng could respond, Jiang Keke sidled up to him, hugging his arm tightly, "Let’s think of another way."
Looking at Jiang Keke snuggled up to him, Bao Cheng’s irritation dissipated considerably. He drew her into his arms, lightly tapped her nose, "Sweetheart, we’ll do as you say!"
An Yin, "..." She quickly turned her head, "How about I go to work first, and you guys can have fun here?"
"We came specifically to see you today," Jiang Keke pouted, complaining.
"Oh." An Yin responded helplessly.
"You’ve been getting pretty close with Shi Qing lately!" Jiang Keke, though nestled in Bao Cheng’s arms, had her bright eyes fixed on An Yin.

"As you spend more time together, isn’t it possible your best friend might become her?" Jiang Keke said, with a hint of sourness in her voice, forcing a smile that looked strained.
"Sweetheart, that’s not right, being jealous of me is one thing, but even An Yin?" Bao Cheng’s hand moved over Jiang Keke’s shoulder, a hint of desire in his eyes.
"Hehe..." An Yin didn’t focus on their movements, just letting out a light laugh.
At this point, Jiang Keke extended and pinched the hand on her shoulder, not exerting much force.
Bao Cheng pretended to take a sharp breath.
Jiang Keke stood up, huffed at Bao Cheng, and then looked at An Yin, "Anyway, you’re my best friend, so you have to consider me your best friend too, understand?"
Jiang Keke said passionately, with An Yin holding back her laughter, nodding repeatedly, "Of course, we are best friends, after all."
"That’s more like it." Hearing An Yin’s words, Jiang Keke only then got up, explaining as she walked, "I’m going to the bathroom."
With that, she was already heading in the direction of the restroom.

In the booth, the screen opposite the sofa was playing the latest popular songs. The volume wasn’t high, yet clear enough for everyone present to hear.
"An Yin, have some fruit!" Bao Cheng spoke.
"Okay." An Yin didn’t move.
The space in the booth was large, and with only the two of them there, it felt incredibly wasteful.
Actually, there was something An Yin had been keeping inside her for a long time. Now, with just the two of them, and Jiang Keke in a restroom some distance away, plus ’Night Charm’ was known for its great soundproofing, Jiang Keke couldn’t possibly hear them from the restroom.
After some thought, An Yin spoke with feigned casualness, "I saw you last time when I was out shopping."
Bao Cheng, holding his phone and apparently chatting with someone, stopped typing at the sound of her gentle voice, responding awkwardly, "Sorry, I didn’t notice you, or I would have bought you a cup of milk tea!"
Seeing his composure, An Yin followed up with, "It was at ’Jianjia Alley’, there was a woman next to you at that time, you two seemed quite familiar!" After speaking, An Yin tightly watched his face, trying to find some clues, but ended up disappointed!
Bao Cheng’s lips curled into a bright smile, showing no trace of panic, responding indifferently, "What a coincidence, that day my cousin came back from abroad, and I was picking her up. We passed by that alley on our way home, and she insisted on going, so I accompanied her for a while." Bao Cheng’s expression was one of helplessness, and his words sounded truthful.

"She’s alright!" Bao Cheng responded nonchalantly to An Yin’s compliment, "You didn’t tell Keke about this, right?"
"No." An Yin answered honestly, looking up at him, curious as to why Bao Cheng suddenly asked this, making her gradually tense again.
Seeing An Yin’s guarded expression, Bao Cheng’s handsome face showed a deeper smile, "Don’t overthink it, I was just asking casually. Besides, you know how Keke tends to make a fuss. If she knew about this, she’d definitely doubt me and suspect my cousin’s identity, and all the commotion would be quite undignified for us!"
With Bao Cheng’s explanation, An Yin solemnly assured, "I won’t tell her about this."
"Thank you!" Bao Cheng said sincerely.
And it made An Yin feel embarrassed!
Seeing her lower her head, the smile on Bao Cheng’s face instantly froze, and his seemingly gentle and kind face was replaced with gloom. The phone in his palm rang at this untimely moment.
Bao Cheng’s gaze fell on the phone screen at a series of numbers, indicating that this phone number wasn’t in his contact list. But when he saw this number, he didn’t feel the slightest unfamiliarity and paused his gaze for a few seconds.
Even An Yin noticed and reminded him, "Your phone is ringing."
"Mm, I’ll step out to take this call." Bao Cheng tilted his head, smiled politely at An Yin, then stood up. As he took a step, he added, "When Keke comes out, just tell her I’m outside taking a call, there’s some work to handle."
After hearing An Yin’s words, Bao Cheng left the booth with his phone.
When Jiang Keke came out, she only saw her good friend holding a piece of watermelon, almost finished eating it, and after glancing around, confusedly asked, "Where’s Ah Cheng?" With that, she had already come to An Yin’s side, casually grabbing a small fork to pick up a piece of watermelon and pop it into her mouth.
