"A cousin is still a brother." An Yin justified, her lively eyes clear and bright, with that bruised forehead on her stunning face making her appear a little adorably silly.
Bao Shaojin rarely saw her this sharp-tongued. For Bao Cheng, that brat, the young girl had shed her usual timidness. Bao Shaojin’s cold eyes instantly froze like ice.
Seeing his silence, his face frighteningly gloomy, An Yin added, "You were the one who asked how I should handle it first, and after I answered you..." She didn’t finish her sentence, leaving the rest unspoken.
An Yin felt wronged, her hands restlessly twisting the hem of her clothes, her gaze caught by the pool of blood on the ground.

After a long pause, the man finally spoke.

The wound on Bao Shaojin’s hand wasn’t too serious, just a broken skin with some alarming blood seepage. After disinfecting it, the doctor wrapped it with gauze.

After the wound was treated, An Yin thought they would leave, but as she lifted a foot, a hand firmly pressed on her shoulder. An Yin stiffened and looked at the owner of the hand, seeing the man speaking to the doctor.

"Doctor, I-I’m fine." An Yin felt nervous upon seeing the doctor in a white coat, her words stuttering as her resistance showed on her face.

An Yin was genuinely afraid of the man before her and obediently sat still.
The male doctor, seeing the young girl’s honest demeanor, was internally surprised. Everyone in T City knew of Mr. Bao, and rumors had it he stayed away from women, never having a single female around him. It seemed he discovered a shocking fact today!
