Pampered By My Fake Boyfriend's Brother Chapter 317

Just after saying one word, she stammered and didn’t say more.

The man saw her hesitant expression and lightly lifted his thin lips, "Speak."

"You asked me to speak," An Yin said leisurely, blinking her beautiful watery eyes, and said warmly, "Can you not be so harsh when talking to others?"

That naturally included herself, An Yin thought sarcastically in her heart.

The man’s deep, cold eyes under his black, sword-like eyebrows gazed at her.

The young girl perhaps realized she had overstepped, and quietly lowered her head, one hand continuously fidgeting with the quilt.

Bao Shaojin watched her little movements, faint emotions momentarily surfaced on his cool face, but they quickly vanished.

An Yin did not notice.

After a while, when she thought she had offended him, the man’s grunt sounded.

The man’s words were firm and solemn, almost as if making a vow. Follow current novᴇls on 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡✶𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚✶𝙣𝙚𝙩

"It’s done." Bao Shaojin slowly lifted the cotton swab, and after seeing no bloodstains, he spoke out loud.

"Can I go see my mom now?" An Yin propped her hands on the hospital bed, about to get up.

Bao Shaojin looked at her frantic demeanor, his face full of worry.

As long as the man was willing to take her to see her mother, An Yin was willing to listen to him.

Next, under the man’s step-by-step reminders, she put on her shoes and coat. Only after that did they leave the ward, where they saw Assistant Lin approaching with a stack of documents in his hands.

"Mr. Bao." Assistant Lin bowed, then upon noticing the person behind him, added, "Miss An."

"Assistant Lin." An Yin weakly replied.

Bao Shaojin took the documents, quickly flipping through them, raising an eyebrow.

"Lead the way, we’ll go now."

"Understood." Assistant Lin froze for a moment, then turned and walked ahead.

As the man reviewed the stack of documents, given An Yin’s height, she couldn’t see them, so she quietly stood aside, despite her eagerness to see Mrs. An.

While walking, the stack of documents eventually returned to Assistant Lin’s hands.

When they took the elevator down and arrived at the general ward floor, passing through the bustling corridor, Assistant Lin stayed ahead, trying to prevent anyone from bumping into Mr. Bao.

Actually, upon learning that An Yin’s mother was residing here, the hospital initially prepared to transfer An Ying to a premium ward, but the person involved refused.

When the three of them stood at the ward door, a group of doctors in white coats rushed over from the other side of the corridor to Bao Shaojin.

Everyone nodded in greeting.

The corridor was already crowded, and as the crowd of doctors approached, onlookers stood on tiptoes to look over here.

Bao Shaojin saw the large crowd and furrowed his brow, initially intending to scold them to leave, but then he recalled the little girl’s earlier words.

Bao Shaojin took a deep breath.

"Everyone, please go about your work."

The doctors exchanged glances; since the other party had spoken, they could only comply.

Assistant Lin noticed the increasing number of onlookers and promptly opened the ward door.

Seeing the open ward door, An Yin rushed inside without hesitation.

"Stay outside," Bao Shaojin left these words and followed closely behind.

Assistant Lin shut the door, blocking the view of those peering in.

Inside the general ward, there were three hospital beds, each occupied by a patient, and the middle of the passage was separated by a curtain.

The innermost position was near the bathroom, which everyone would pass by when going to the restroom.

At that moment, an aunt sat beside the hospital bed, holding a mobile phone in one hand and constantly swiping the screen with the other, engrossed in watching the short video on it, especially absorbed by the soul-stirring captions making her very attentive.

Beside the aunt lay An Ying, whose forehead was wrapped in a white bandage, and her left arm and left leg were encased in thick plaster, making her look quite cumbersome.

Most family members sitting with patients were glued to their phones, and the uneven chatter filled the ward, making it impossible to find peace.

An Ying’s eyelids fluttered slightly, though her trembling eyelashes indicated she was not asleep.

The events of this time were too distressing, leaving her mentally and physically exhausted. Despite this, her biggest concern was how her daughter would feel if she knew about her injury—knowing her daughter well, she would undoubtedly be very upset.

During her time bedridden, An Ying had a lot on her mind.

Ever since her daughter was born, they had been relying on each other. To compensate for her daughter’s lack of paternal love, An Ying had channeled all her love into her daughter. It seemed she was diligently nurturing her daughter, whereas in reality, her daughter had become her true salvation.

If this little life had not come into existence back then, perhaps she would no longer be in this world.

Lost in memories, a sheen of tears covered her tightly closed eyes.

Next to her, the aunt burst into laughter upon watching a funny video.

"Haha...that’s hilarious."

Laughing, she deliberately turned up the volume.

"So noisy, can’t any of you let a person rest?" the woman on the hospital bed near the door snapped in fury.

The woman had a loud voice, and the entire ward could hear her.

Even the aunt caring for An Ying heard it.

The aunt turned her head, sending a scornful look through the curtain towards the direction of the voice.

"Having a loud voice makes you impressive? If you can’t stand the noise, why don’t you go stay in a VIP ward?" the aunt retorted self-righteously.

"Aunt Chen, could you turn the volume down a bit." An Ying spoke with her clear eyes, her tone gentle.

Aunt Chen was already upset, and upon hearing these words, she angrily stood up, "I’ve been taking care of you day and night, and you still take someone else’s side to criticize me. Do you even have a conscience?"

An Ying bit her lip, her pale, thin face turning an ashen white.

"I don’t need your care, you can leave." An Ying met the woman’s gaze, her tone firm.

If she weren’t restrained to the bed, she wouldn’t allow this person to belittle her this way.

"I was hired by Mr. Su; leaving or staying isn’t up to just your words. Besides, if I leave, who will attend to all your basic needs? Can you handle that?" Aunt Chen aggressively looked at the beautiful woman lying in the hospital bed.

They were both women, but the other possessed an exceptional beauty. Every time Aunt Chen looked, she was filled with jealousy. After all, her deceased husband had been lured away by beautiful, seductive women, and hadn’t been home in years, leaving her living like a widow. She once considered divorce but for the sake of giving her children a complete family, she endured, hoping for the day her husband might return.

The resentment in her heart had diminished over time, but when she discovered the patient she was caring for was so breathtakingly beautiful, the deep-seated hatred was rekindled.

Whenever she saw An Ying, a fire ignited within her heart.
