Sophie furrowed her brows, staring at the maid. What did she want to do?
"Since you don’t obey, I’ll teach you how to be an obedient person here."
The maid was about to tie her up with the rope but was interrupted by a sudden order.
"Young Master wants to see her. Send her to Young Master’s study room immediately."
The maid paused her actions. "Yes."
Sophie secretly breathed a sigh of relief, her gaze towards the maid holding a hint of provocation.
The maid snorted coldly. "You don’t have to be proud. The days ahead are long, and you will suffer."
Charlie River closed the folder and respectfully stood to one side.
Stepping on the expensive carpet, Sophie walked step by step towards the man, the look in his eyes full of predatory intent.
Thomas Shannon held a cigarette in one hand, his slender fingers flicked off the cigarette ash, and his deep eyes narrowed dangerously.
Wearing a maid outfit, she stood gracefully; her slender waist and delicate, alabaster arms made her an eye-catching sight.
Thick strands of hair hid half of her face, revealing a beauty that could topple kingdoms.
"What’s your name?" the man’s deep voice sounded.
Sophie shook her head.
Thomas Shannon listlessly curled his fingers, gently tapping on the table, "Not talking?"
"I don’t know." Sophie didn’t want to be locked in the bedroom again, enduring hunger and bondage.
"Is it that you don’t know, or you don’t want to say, hmm?" Thomas Shannon stood up. The tall man suddenly exuded an overwhelming sense of oppression.
He advanced on Sophie, his posture exuding an irresistible pressure.
She lowered her eyelids. "I don’t know my name."
Doesn’t know her own name?
Thomas Shannon chuckled lightly as his handsome face gradually drew closer, smoke from his cigarette wafting onto her face.
Sophie remained unfazed, showing no signs of panic or fear.
"Let’s just call you maniac, alright?"
A sharp pain suddenly shot through her jaw, forcing her to raise her head.
Thomas Shannon held a cigarette at the corner of his mouth, his deep eyes narrowed dangerously. "Has no one ever taught you how to answer?"
Sophie clenched both hands, enduring it. "I name."
"Heh, such a poor performance." Thomas Shannon released her and returned to his boss chair.
"Charlie, you go out."
Charlie River glanced sympathetically at Sophie, answering, "Yes, Young Master."
As the study door closed, Sophie felt uneasy.
As expected, the next second, Thomas Shannon gestured with his hand. "Maniac, come here."
Sophie hesitated for a second before walking over.
Just as she stood before him, the look in Thomas Shannon’s eyes shifted slightly. She seemed obedient enough, he thought, but her gaze is deeply dissatisfying. He knew everything that had happened since she entered the castle. She wasn’t a submissive person who could be easily controlled.
Thomas Shannon’s lips curved, a playful glint in his eyes. "Only obedient women have any value."
The man’s hand gripped her chin, tilting her head up. Her hair slid behind her ear, revealing the other half of her terrifying face. The man’s breath hitched momentarily.
He released her, pondered for a moment, and said, "From now on, cover your face when you come to see me."
"What’s wrong with your voice?"
It was an odd question, yet Sophie had to answer, "I don’t know."
She answered "I don’t know" to every question. She didn’t know her name. She didn’t know how her voice had been injured. Presumably, she also didn’t know how her face had become .
Thomas Shannon narrowed his eyes, observing her with interest. An asylum... a woman of excessive beauty...
