Charlie River frowned slightly. "It’s already a favor from the Young Master that you can stay. I hope you remember the rules and don’t challenge the Young Master’s bottom line; it won’t be good for you."
"Alright, I understand."
Charlie River turned and left.
Alone on the sofa, Amelia Shaw sat for a while before returning to the servants’ quarters.
No matter how arrogant that maniac acted in front of me, Thomas Shannon still chased him away in the end.
In that case, it seemed Thomas still had a place for me in his heart.
At least... he allowed me to stay, right?
Amelia knew that her decision to choose Frank Mitchell two years ago had greatly hurt him. Now she had come to her senses, realizing who truly loved her the most, so she came back. She bravely returned to him, hoping that he would give her a chance.
Give both of us a chance.
My first man wasn’t him, and his first woman wasn’t me, so... we’re even.
I could tolerate his involvement with that maniac, but only what happened before I returned.
From now on, he can only have me as his woman.
After lying down, Amelia’s mind raced for a while before she finally fell asleep.
The sky turned a fish-belly white, and birds chirped on tree branches.
Amelia woke up early. After washing up, she put on the servant’s uniform and started her work inside the castle.
She deliberately went to the kitchen and asked the Chief Chef, "Can I personally make breakfast for the Young Master?"
The Chief Chef looked troubled and fell silent, but Amelia didn’t give up. "How about I make a separate portion for him? Is that okay?"
"Alright," the Chief Chef reluctantly agreed.
That night, Thomas Shannon had gone to sleep filled with anger.
He hadn’t slept well.
Without that maniac’s smooth skin by his side, he always felt like something was missing.
When he woke up, it was already eight o’clock.
Subconsciously, he glanced at the bedside table.
He leaned over, stretched out his long arm, and opened the first drawer.
The drawer contained the maniac’s medicine. He picked up the bottle and held it in his hand.
After turning it over in his hand a couple of times, he sneered, "Humph."
Amelia made porridge—lotus seed and lily porridge—and prepared two appetizing side dishes.
She waited eagerly for Thomas Shannon to wake up and have breakfast.
"Young Master, good morning." In the main hall, the maids and servants all bowed and greeted Thomas Shannon as he descended the staircase.
Hearing the commotion, Amelia quickly left the kitchen, wiping her hand on her apron. "Thomas... Young Master, good morning."
When she uttered ’Thomas’, and his icy gaze landed on her, she unconsciously began to feel anxious.
Compared to how he was two years ago, his demeanor was even colder now, and his imposing presence made others tremble with fear.
A mere glance from him was enough to intimidate.
"Young Master, I made breakfast. Would you like to eat now?" Amelia’s voice gradually faded, her shy, timid eyes looking at him nervously.
She looked like a pitiful little white rabbit, the kind that would redden at the eyes if teased.
Thomas Shannon furrowed his brow, his gaze calmly sweeping over her face. He gripped the medicine bottle in his hand a little tighter.
He turned and walked out.
Amelia chased after him. "Young Master, where are you going?"
A nearby maid stopped her. "Amelia Shaw, remember your place!"
Since she was a maidservant, she had to act like one and not violate the rules of the manor.
Amelia bit her lip, watching helplessly as Thomas Shannon disappeared from her sight.
