It seemed she hadn’t slept well last night. Sophie Sullivan had a sudden idea and stepped toward her.
Amelia Shaw glanced at the maniac approaching her and remained silent.
Sophie tilted her head slightly, looking at her. "I have something to say to you."
"Get out of the way. Don’t disturb my work."

"Because you are a servant now."
Sophie hit the nail on the head. "Or do you still think you’re the goddess in Thomas Shannon’s heart, enjoying the treatment of a mistress?"
All the servants were watching. Amelia Shaw felt as if her modesty cloth had been ripped away, leaving her completely exposed and vulnerable before everyone.
She lowered her eyelids, walked over wringing the rag in her hands, poured a cup of tea, and placed it in front of her.
Amelia Shaw, who was just about to get up and leave, paused, her brow furrowing slightly. "What else is there?"
"I have something to say to you. Are you sure you don’t want to hear it? An opportunity won’t come again. You have ten seconds to consider."
Sophie smiled meaningfully. Amelia Shaw sized her up. Could what she wants to say be about Thomas Shannon?
