"Were you seen by anyone when you came here?"
The maid shook her head. "No one saw me."
Minimus Hart waved her hand, signaling her to leave first.
The maid’s figure quickly disappeared from her sight. Minimus Hart lowered her head, brushing nonexistent dust from her skirt hem, her smile faintly cold.
Returning to the castle, Sophie was in great spirits.
After having breakfast, she leisurely sat on the sofa and started watching a movie.
During Thomas Shannon’s absence, Minimus Hart would undoubtedly make another move. Minimus Hart was already in disarray, so Sophie wasn’t afraid. With Amelia Shaw around, Minimus Hart’s first target ought to be Amelia Shaw.
Amelia Shaw, who was polishing an enamel piece nearby, gave a cold snort and walked over. "What about the plan to get rid of Minimus Hart?"
Sophie gave a faint smile, feigning ignorance. "Miss Shaw, what are you talking about?"
Amelia, choked with anger, replied, "What do you mean, what am I talking about? Are you denying your own words now?"
"You clearly said you’d get rid of Minimus Hart during one of your mad episodes. Now you’re trying to play dumb?"
Sophie lazily twirled her hair, covering half of her hideous face, leaving only the stunningly beautiful half exposed. "I’m sorry; I don’t remember. Are you sure I wasn’t going crazy when I said those things?"
"You... you dare to toy with me?!" Amelia finally realized that this maniac was utterly devious! Helping her get rid of Minimus Hart—it was all a lie!
Sophie shrugged indifferently. "Who’s to blame for being stupid?"
Blinking her eyes in puzzlement, she said, "I am quite curious, though. Was Thomas Shannon’s taste that bad back then? Liking foolish women like you?"
"Maniac, don’t go too far!" Amelia raised her hand, about to strike Sophie in fury.
With her hand in the air, she quickly grasped a shred of rationality.
Reluctantly lowering her hand, she glared angrily. "You’d better remember this!"
Sophie smiled, waving her hand. "Sure."
The maniac’s situation was so special that the doctor had to report it personally to Thomas Shannon.
"Young Master, the unknown substance in the maniac’s body has disappeared."
On a luxurious yacht in the vast ocean, Thomas Shannon stood on the deck. He occasionally glanced at his fishing rod. A cigarette dangled from the corner of his mouth, trembling slightly as he held his words. Then, exuding a sinister and unrestrained aura, he asked, "What did you say?"
"In short, the maniac is cured and won’t go mad anymore." The doctor didn’t dare waste words on academic details, getting straight to the point because he knew the Young Master had little patience.
"Have you developed the antidote?" Thomas Shannon’s slender fingers held the cigarette, carelessly flicking off the ash.
"It wasn’t me. Last night, the maniac suddenly came to the medical office, asking to have her blood drawn for an examination. I was shocked by the results this morning. It’s truly unbelievable!" the doctor explained.
"What did the maniac say?"
"She didn’t say anything. She just left happily."
Thomas Shannon’s deep eyes gazed towards the horizon where the sea and sky met. He chuckled lightly. Left happily?
It seemed she must be hiding something from him.
"Alright, I understand."
After a pause, his brow furrowed, and his voice suddenly deepened. "You must speed up the recovery of the maniac’s voice."
He had truly had enough of that rough voice!
Her beauty was ruined, but he could still find peace by turning off the lamp and not seeing her.
