Sophie was slightly worried. "Are you okay on your own?"
"I can do it," Fluffy Zane replied. She wasn’t trying to be brave; she just didn’t want to give herself an excuse to be weak.
After crying, life had to go on.
She still had to walk her destined path alone...
Sophie nodded without a word, then turned and left.
Once in the car, Thomas Shannon’s face was still gloomy. Sophie rested her head on her hand, turning to look at his cold profile. "What’s the relationship between William Guillen and Abigail Zane?"
"None of your business."
"Hmph." Sophie withdrew her gaze. "Stingy."
"Maniac, don’t push your luck."
Sophie lazily turned her head to look out the car window. Not taking his words to heart, she replied perfunctorily, "Okay."
After a while, Sophie couldn’t hold back anymore. "Where are we going?"
"You’ll know when we get there." Thomas Shannon had no intention of saying more.
Since he didn’t say anything, Sophie didn’t ask anymore.
Anyway, they were both out to relax. As long as they weren’t stuck in the manor castle, it didn’t matter where they went.
The fleet stopped at the airport. Charlie River and the man in black got out of the car in unison, opening the car door.
"Young Master, please."
Thomas Shannon got out of the car first, and then Sophie followed.
After passing through the special passage and going through the security check, they reached the helipad. Thomas Shannon took large strides and boarded the private jet first.
Sophie strolled leisurely, unhurried, and was soon left behind.
As she was about to board and find a seat, a cabin crew member stopped her. "Maniac, please come with me."
"Change into a uniform."
Sophie’s gaze flickered over the flight attendant, appraising her from head to toe. "It’s too ugly. I’m not changing."
The flight attendant’s smile remained unchanged. "It’s the Young Master’s order. Please follow me."
Losing her patience, Sophie flared up and yelled, "Thomas Shannon!"
The handsome and distinguished Young Master Shannon was holding a cup of coffee, sipping it with utmost elegance.
He paid no mind to her exasperated outburst.
Trying to mess with her, huh?
Fine, let’s see who’s playing whom.
Sophie turned her head and followed the flight attendant to change her clothes.
「Five minutes later...」
Sophie, now in a stewardess uniform, approached Thomas Shannon with an enigmatic smile. "Young Master, would you like some fruit juice?"
"This is a fruit juice I specially mixed for you. Please, try it." Sophie held out a cup of dark red, viscous liquid towards him.
Charlie River, quick-eyed and nimble-handed, intercepted her. "Maniac, Young Master doesn’t drink fruit juice."
"Charlie River, let go." Sophie’s eyes turned cold.
Charlie River did not give in.
"We’re flirting. What are you doing meddling in this? Or perhaps, you’re interested in me?"
A look of profound awkwardness was forced onto Charlie River’s stern face. He stared at her as if he’d seen a ghost.
Sophie snorted contemptuously. "Let go."
Charlie River glanced at Thomas Shannon. Since Thomas Shannon didn’t object, Charlie River slowly released his grip, took a step back, and watched her warily.
Thomas Shannon lowered his head, hiding the faintest hint of a smile playing at the corner of his mouth.
Sophie slammed the fruit juice onto the table surface in front of him, shoved the tray into Charlie River’s arms, and then smoothly settled onto Thomas Shannon’s lap.
Her slender, lotus-like arms lazily rose to encircle his neck.
Her captivating, beautiful eyes held an elusive allure. "Young Master, care for some fruit juice?"
Thomas Shannon picked up the glass of fruit juice before him and examined it carefully for a while.
Sophie smiled encouragingly. "I mixed this specially for you. Won’t you try it?"
