Thomas Shannon remained motionless, not even lifting his eye sight.
He seemed completely unconcerned about her unreasonable tantrum.
"Young Master, are you angry?"
Sophie Sullivan’s soft body gently pressed against his chest. "Are you angry because of what just happened?"
Sophie Sullivan didn’t know that a small prank would make Thomas Shannon so angry.
During the more than ten hours of flight, he hadn’t communicated with her at all.
He was resting in the bedroom, and Sophie Sullivan hesitated, wondering whether to go to the bedroom to rest as well.
The consequence of her hesitation was that she fell asleep outside by herself.
When the airplane landed, she was still groggy.
After getting off the airplane and leaving the airport, she arrived at the hotel. This was Bali Island, a renowned holiday destination.
Sophie Sullivan touched her mask with melancholy. This face... it always feels like a heavy stone pressing on the tip of my heart.
Watching other girls playing and frolicking carelessly under the sunshine, she couldn’t help but feel envious.
The outdoor temperature was high, but she could only wear half a mask to cover her ugly face.
She didn’t know where Thomas Shannon had gone. She was left alone in the huge suite.
She left the suite and looked at the man in black standing in the corridor. "Where is Thomas Shannon?"
The man in black remained silent, ignoring her.
Sophie Sullivan took a deep breath. BANG! She slammed the door shut.
Returning to the bedroom, she threw herself heavily onto the bed.
The extended Lincoln was slowly leaving the hotel.
Charlie River, with a troubled expression, looked at the silent, gloomy-faced handsome man. "Young Master, are you really leaving?"
He just arrived, and he’s leaving already... Weren’t we supposed to come out to unwind?
An entire week’s worth of work had been postponed for this trip.
Charlie River couldn’t fathom his thoughts. "What about the maniac?"
Thomas Shannon slowly closed his eyes, his tone cold and flat. "Let her unwind by herself."
"Aren’t you afraid she’ll run away again?"
The maniac had a long record of escapes. This time, having left the manor and the Young Master, she was likely to become restless again. She would surely entertain thoughts of escape.
A thin, cold smile touched the corners of Thomas Shannon’s lips. "Then let her run."
Since it had come to this, Charlie River said no more.
The Young Master isn’t worried, so there’s no point in me worrying needlessly. If the maniac really dares to run away, she’d better be prepared to face the consequences.
Sophie Sullivan waited all night, but Thomas Shannon didn’t return.
She pulled open the door and looked expressionlessly at the man in black in the corridor. "Where is Thomas Shannon?"
The man in black remained silent.
"You’re not going to tell me?" Sophie Sullivan chuckled. "Fine, I’ll find him myself."
Just as she took one step out of the suite, the man in black spoke, as if bestowing a great favor. "The Young Master has already returned to the Country."
Returned to the Country?
Sophie Sullivan thought she had misheard. She frowned. "What did you say?"
"You heard correctly. The Young Master has already returned to the Country."
Sophie Sullivan was stunned for a long moment. No wonder... No wonder there were so few men in black around. He’d already left and taken the bodyguards with him. But he just left by himself and abandoned me here? What does that make me? He just ditches me over a slight disagreement?
Amelia Shaw fell ill.
She had fallen ill when she heard that Thomas Shannon had taken the maniac on vacation.
Her high fever persisted, and even in her delirious state, she kept calling Thomas Shannon’s name.
The butler had a doctor put her on an IV drip with antipyretic medicine. Unconscious, she couldn’t swallow medicine tablets and had to rely on the fluid transfusion.
