Sophie Sullivan was speechless. Is he really a pervert?!
"Thomas Shannon, if you dare to treat me , I will..."
Thomas Shannon lazily interrupted, "Take me down with you, right?"
"Well, if you can manage to kill me, then consider it your accomplishment."
Sophie Sullivan was stunned. Why is he so confident that she can’t kill him?
Thomas Shannon knew she was angry and wanted to vent it on him. He changed the subject. "Don’t you want to fix your face anymore?"
Talk about hitting a snake at its seven-inch point—Thomas Shannon had struck her vital spot instantly.
Sophie Sullivan had prepared rebuttals, but she immediately forced herself to swallow them.
Swallowing her pride, she managed to force out a single word, "Yes."
It was a determined, expectant "yes." She wanted to fix her face. She didn’t mask and didn’t want to continue appearing before everyone wearing it. She wanted to be herself again—the most genuine, completely unguarded Sophie Sullivan!
Sophie Sullivan nodded vigorously. "Yes! I do!"
Thomas Shannon raised his hand, signaling the masseuse to stop. He turned around, adjusted the bath towel around his waist, and walked out.
Arriving in the lounge, Thomas Shannon sneered, his tone playful, "Is this your attitude about wanting to fix your face?"
Sophie Sullivan was silent.
"To be honest, I don’t sense any sincerity from you."
Sophie Sullivan remained quiet.
"Maniac, you haven’t truly learned the rules yet. When you’ve completely learned them, then come talk to me about fixing your face."
Sophie Sullivan’s heart plummeted as if into an ice cellar.
Is he... going back on his word?
Didn’t he say he’d let Charlie River find a doctor?
Now... he’s changing his tune and telling her to learn the rules?
"Thomas Shannon, you can’t just go back on your word !" Sophie Sullivan growled, exasperated.
Without looking, Thomas Shannon could guess her expression at this very moment; she must be fuming. Like an enraged little beast.
"So today, I’ve taught you a lesson."
Sophie Sullivan clenched her teeth. "Are you telling me that a man’s word can’t be trusted, is that it?"
"If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up."
Just as Thomas Shannon was about to hang up, Sophie Sullivan hurriedly spoke, her soft, sweet voice tugging at his heartstrings, "Thomas Shannon, you can’t treat me ."
For the first time, he found the sound of his name from her lips so enchanting.
"Why don’t you tell me why I can’t treat you like that?"
Sophie Sullivan huffed, quite displeased. "I’m your woman, after all! We’ve even shared a bed. How can my treatment be worse than Amelia Shaw’s?"
"Screw you!" Sophie Sullivan grabbed a cushion and threw it hard onto the ground. "I want freedom!"
"I give her a card and freedom, but nothing else. Do you want to be like her?"
Sophie Sullivan nodded eagerly. Freedom was all she wanted. As for his beastly behavior, he could vent it on whoever he pleased. She was done serving him!
The smile vanished from Thomas Shannon’s eyes, replaced by a bone-chilling coldness in their depths. "Say that again."
Hearing Thomas Shannon’s gloomy words, Sophie Sullivan knew Young Master Shannon was angry again!
She sighed, rubbing her aching forehead. "Don’t take it seriously; I was just joking with you. I’m not envious of Amelia Shaw at all!"
The last sentence was spoken with arrogance and contempt.
