The villa was equipped with servants and a private butler, who arranged everything meticulously and offered very considerate service.
The man in black put the luggage back in the bedroom, and Sophie Sullivan, touching her stomach, wasn’t very interested in the warm springs.

Within a few minutes, when she looked up again, Thomas Shannon was nowhere to be found.
Sophie Sullivan was stunned, looked around, and eventually had to ask the servant, "Where is Thomas Shannon?"
"Miss, Young Master Shannon has gone upstairs," replied the servant nearby.
Standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, Thomas Shannon held a cigarette in one hand and the telephone in the other. His deep voice had lost its usual coldness and carried a hint of gentleness.
"Mother, I haven’t had time recently."
Thomas Shannon swiftly turned around, his fierce gaze fixed on the doorway.
Sophie Sullivan shrank her neck. Since he had caught her, she boldly pushed the door open and entered.
With his cigarette in hand, Thomas Shannon pointed to the sofa. Sophie Sullivan obediently went and sat down.
Turning around, Thomas Shannon continued talking on the phone, "It’s nothing, I’m listening."
Sophie Sullivan was amazed and couldn’t help but wonder who he was talking to; she had never seen him use such a gentle tone before.

At the other end, someone said something, and Thomas Shannon chuckled with a low, deep voice, "What could happen to me? Don’t you trust your own son? Don’t listen to Charlie River’s nonsense, I’m perfectly fine."
Mrs. Shannon’s voice was gentle, "When will you come to visit us?"
Thomas Shannon’s eyes darkened. He lowered his eyelids and took a deep breath. "I’ll go back when I’m less busy."
"I heard that the girl named Amelia Shaw came back to find you?" Mrs. Shannon’s impression of Amelia Shaw was neither good nor bad; she only knew that she had initially refused Thomas Shannon.
Seeing her darling son being rejected, Mrs. Shannon had once looked at Amelia Shaw differently.
But looking at her differently was one thing; more than that, she was pleased.
"Charlie River has quite the blabbermouth," Thomas Shannon complained.
Mrs. Shannon chuckled softly, soothingly, "Don’t blame Charlie River. You wouldn’t tell me, so I had no choice but to ask him. Charlie River is much better-behaved than you."
