So, he had left her behind, taking Amelia Shaw out on a date.
Amelia Shaw went upstairs crestfallen, locked herself in the bedroom. The mobile phone left on the tea table kept vibrating.
She hugged her legs, sitting on the sofa, unable to understand why Thomas Shannon would treat her this way.
She could clearly feel the softening in his attitude towards her. Weren’t these signs enough to prove his feelings for her?
She casually picked up the phone and answered, "Hello."
"Samuel, about the task I assigned you, why haven’t you acted yet?" Frank Mitchell’s voice was tinged with anger; he had been waiting for her good news.
But it was as if she had completely forgotten the plan, making no move at all.
Amelia Shaw said emotionlessly, "Now is not the right time to act. You’ll just have to wait a little longer."
"Wait? How long do you expect me to wait?"
"I’ll do it as soon as I can, alright?" Amelia Shaw suddenly thought of a plan; this time, she would force Thomas Shannon to reveal his true feelings.
"Fine, I’ll give you two more days. If you still haven’t acted within two days, then don’t blame me."
Amelia Shaw hated being threatened. She sneered, "Don’t push me either, or I won’t continue to be at your beck and call."
Frank Mitchell was silent for a moment, then chuckled. "How could I possibly pressure you, Samuel? I’m helping you."
"That would be for the best."
Downstairs, Thomas Shannon approached Sophie Sullivan. Just as he sat down, she sprang up, putting a good distance between them.
Thomas Shannon’s handsome face darkened. "Maniac, come over here."
"Why should I?" Sophie Sullivan crossed her arms over her chest, giving a haughty scoff. Did he think she was some little puppy that would come just because he called? Even Harry isn’t that obedient!
"What tantrum are you throwing now?"
Sophie Sullivan was so exasperated by his question she almost laughed. What was she upset about? Did he really not know? Why bother asking such a redundant question? Did he actually expect her to answer? Of course, she wouldn’t.
Sophie Sullivan couldn’t be bothered to deal with him. She got up to go upstairs. Thomas Shannon commanded angrily, "Stop."
Sophie Sullivan quickened her pace and disappeared around the bend in the staircase in an instant.
Charlie River shook his head. Such audacity! That maniac is far too arrogant!
"Young Master, should I drag that maniac down?" Charlie River volunteered, offering to help the Young Master vent his frustration.
Thomas Shannon’s icy glare shot towards him. "Who asked you to meddle?"
Charlie River was speechless. Young Master, I’m only trying to help!
Thomas Shannon left the villa early in the morning.
Hearing the sound of the engine starting, Amelia Shaw quietly moved to the floor-to-ceiling windows, lifted a corner of the curtain, and watched Thomas Shannon’s fleet leave the villa.
She let the curtain fall. Heaven is truly on my side!
After washing up, she put the medicine she had brought with her into her pocket and headed downstairs casually.
Inside the kitchen, the servants were still preparing breakfast.
"Good morning, Miss Shaw."
Amelia Shaw stepped forward, glanced around, then nonchalantly opened the refrigerator to find the ingredients she needed.
"Miss Shaw, what are you planning to do? We can do it for you," a servant stepped forward to ask.
Amelia Shaw waved her hand. "No need. I want to personally make some snacks for Thomas. You can all go about your own work; don’t mind me."
The servants dispersed and continued preparing breakfast.
After a while, Amelia Shaw suddenly shrieked, "AH... What a mess!"
Low-gluten flour had spilled from the sink, scattering all over the floor.
