Pampered by My Secret Husband Chapter 69

While the Young Master is away, I’ll escape.

Minimus Hart lowered her head slightly, concealing the hint of a smile at the corners of her lips. Since Sophie Sullivan wants to leave, I’ll help her.

Outside the castle, whether she lives or dies, it will be her fate.

「The next day,」 Sophie Sullivan got up early and, resorting to her old trick, went to the kitchen to offer her help.

After her repeated, earnest requests, the Chief Chef finally agreed to let her go with a few servants and bodyguards to purchase ingredients.

Once in the car, Sophie Sullivan’s heart was still throbbing with excitement.

Finally, I can leave... She had never believed Thomas Shannon’s words. There was no way the asylum would have just caught fire for no reason, nor could it have been a coincidence that everything was burned to ashes. I have to see for myself. Perhaps I might find some clues related to my identity at the asylum.

The purchasing of ingredients was a strict process, personally overseen by the servants and men in black. Today, they were only purchasing ordinary ingredients.

Seizing a free moment, Sophie Sullivan excused herself to the restroom, claiming her stomach hurt.

A man in black guarded the restroom door; the only way for her to escape was through the window. The window!

Carefully stepping onto the toilet, she pushed the window open and, with a surge of effort, pulled herself up to the windowsill.

Fortunately, it wasn’t a high floor. She estimated the distance to the ground and then leaped down.

Sophie Sullivan scrambled to her feet and ran.

After running a considerable distance, Sophie Sullivan finally slowed her pace. It was then that she noticed passersby staring at her with strange gazes.

Sophie Sullivan frowned and raised a hand to her face.

My mask! It was gone, revealing the hideous and terrifying disfigured half of her face to everyone.

Not far away, a child, frightened to tears, clung tightly to his mother, too scared to look again.

When one child cried, others soon followed suit.

Sophie Sullivan’s heart constricted. She lowered her head, haphazardly trying to cover her face with her hair.

She still cared about her appearance. For instance, she loved the perfect, flawless half of her face and detested the hideous, terrifying other half.

Quickly leaving the area, Sophie Sullivan was determined to go to the asylum, but first, she needed to find its address.

When Thomas Shannon’s men had taken her from the asylum, she had no idea where they had brought her, let alone the asylum’s address. This was the Imperial City, and she didn’t even know in which city the asylum was located.

Finding the asylum now is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

If only I had known, I wouldn’t have left so rashly. At the very least, I should have gotten more useful information from Thomas Shannon before trying to investigate on my own.

Leaving with high hopes, only to be met with disappointment.

Just as Sophie Sullivan was about to turn back, a black shadow attacked her, and an intense pain shot through her head. The next second, she lost consciousness.

Outside the restroom, the man in black waited for a long time, but the maniac didn’t come out.

He pushed open the restroom door, ignoring the screams of other women, and searched each cubicle.

One cubicle was empty, its window wide open; the maniac was gone.

The man in black immediately spoke into his wireless earpiece, "The maniac has run away! Find her!"

The message quickly reached those inside the castle.

Minimus Hart answered the phone. The man in black informed her that the maniac had disappeared. "Understood," she replied. "I will inform the Young Master."

After hanging up the phone, the corners of Minimus Hart’s lips curled into a barely perceptible arc. She knew Thomas Shannon had left this time for a business deal.

Considering the time difference, he’s very likely in negotiations right now.
