"Penny!" Nina jumped off the stool, momentarily forgetting her drunkenness. She didn’t know what was happening, but seeing someone trying to harm Penny was enough to spark her concern. She wouldn’t just sit still when she knew her sister was in trouble.
However, just as Nina jumped, she lost her balance. Thankfully, an arm wrapped around her waist in the nick of time, saving her from what could have been a terrible fall.
For a moment, Nina was stunned by the fact that she could have hurt herself. But when she recovered, she slowly looked back at the person who had saved her.
"Finn?" she called, confused. "What are you—"
"Stay here," Finne said, looking at her with mixed emotions. "Don’t get involved."
Her lips curved down as she allowed him to assist her back to her feet. Facing him, her expression was unforgiving and stern.
"Don’t get involved?" she repeated, knowing what he meant. "That’s my sister, and I’m getting involved whether you like it or not."
With that, Nina snatched her arm from him and turned her back. Without a second’s hesitation or even a glance back, she jogged toward Penny, squeezing herself into the crowd. It was too late for Grace to notice Nina until she heard her voice.
Penny dodged an attack, momentarily distracted by the fact that Nina’s voice sounded so close. Looking back toward the source of the voice, she saw Nina standing nearby with a horrified expression.
"Oh, Nina!" Penny raised a hand as if to say hi. However, while Penny was doing this, the man behind her leaped forward, wrapping his brawny arms around her body.
Nina panicked, watching the scene unfold. "Oh, no! Penny!"
"Ack!" Penny let out a sound as the man’s arms squeezed her tightly enough to restrict her breathing. However, when he tried to lift her up, he stopped in confusion.
’Huh?’ The man furrowed his brows in confusion. ’She’s much heavier than she looks.’
He clenched his teeth, telling himself it was probably all in his head. There was no way Penny could be this heavy when she was the size of an ant. But to his dismay, he was wrong. When he tried to lift Penny again, her feet barely left the ground.
The crowd: ".. what the hell??"
The man tried a few more times, but all he got was confusion from the crowd. Even Nina, who was trying to run to help Penny, froze in disbelief.
"Hey!" Penny yelled as she looked back at him, disgusted. "Why are you acting like that, huh?! I’m light as a feather!"
More than amused, Penny was insulted! These guys were all big men with huge muscles. They should be able to lift her easily! However, this guy was acting as if he were trying to lift a boulder.
Wasn’t that insulting for a lady?!
Even Zoren had never complained about her weight. If anything, he wanted to feed her all day and night just to make sure she had enough stamina. Surely, Zoren was amazing for being able to carry Penny. Little did she know, under normal circumstances Zoren had to carry her, he used every ounce of his energy to take her wherever she needed to go.
The steamy sessions were different, though. Zoren was stronger due to the adrenaline in his body. His excitement overcomes everything else.
"This is ridiculous," Penny hissed with a heavy heart, deciding to end his misery. With the only free hand that wasn’t trapped by the man’s grip, Penny reached out and poked his right eye with the tip of her thumb.
"Ah!" The man instinctively let her go, stumbling back as he placed a hand over his eye. However, just as he looked up at her, all he saw was Penny’s raised foot. She spun a little, launching a kick to the side of his head, almost sending him flying.
"..." Nina covered her gaping mouth with her hand, darting her eyes between Penny and the man on the floor. It would be a lie to say she didn’t feel the slightest embarrassment. She had rushed into the scene wanting to protect Penny, but it seemed her interference had almost cost Penny more pain and harm.
What was she thinking?
Meanwhile, Penny stood straight, smiling in satisfaction as she gazed at the bodies on the ground. Three of them were unconscious, and the rest were still on the floor, grunting or pretending to be out cold. The latter only meant they had already given up.
"Heh. Piece of cake," she remarked, dusting off her hands as she glanced around.
Aiden stared at the hired men in a daze. "What... what happened?" he asked himself, having no idea what had just transpired. All he could remember was the men marching toward Penny and then the brief fight.
After that, one after another, all the men he had hired fell to the floor. Now, all of them were down, and there was only one left: him.
Slowly, Aiden lifted his gaze. The very second he met Penny’s eyes, his breath hitched. The remaining color he had drained from his face, and his eyes shook in horror.
"You..." Penny smirked, advancing toward Aiden.
"You... get away from me!" Aiden exclaimed, taking a step back to widen the gap between them. However, after a few more steps, his back hit something hard. Looking back, he saw the cold expression of the man—who had tried to help Lily earlier—looking down at him.
"Get away!" Aiden yelled, pushing the man in an attempt to escape. However, it wasn’t just him trying to block Aiden; a few others from the crowd joined in. In his struggle to break free, he found himself being kicked back.
Aiden tumbled to the floor, wincing in pain as he landed hard. "Ah!" He touched his hip, only to freeze when he sensed the demoness breathing down his neck.
"Hey there," Penny squatted down behind him, smirking.
Slowly, Aiden looked back at her. Horror spread across his face the moment his eyes met hers.
"Now, what shall I do to you?"
