The young nurse named Xiaoxin was once again interrogated. With a timid expression on her face, she said, "Young Master Li, really, no one has been here. Please believe me, I’ve been on night duty and I haven’t seen any woman fitting your description..."
"Then, you tell me, have you been entering my ward?"
"Ah?" The startled nurse quickly waved her hands in disclaimer, "No, no, I ... I don’t dare. I know Young Master, you don’t like being disturbed while you sleep, so I definitely wouldn’t dare!"
Li Weihuan rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on. Why was this happening? Was his brain messing up?
"You can leave now. Without my permission, you are not to step into the ward!" Li Weihuan shooed the nurse out.
As the nurse was leaving, she ran into Xia Zhen. Upon seeing the young nurse’s red-rimmed eyes, Xia Zhen sighed, guessing that Li Weihuan must have lost his temper again. She was well aware of his short temper.
Xia Zhen entered the room, and upon seeing Weihuan in bed, she called his name.
"Auntie Zhen, you’re here!"
"Yes, I just came from your Second Uncle’s. I happened to have some free time, so I thought I’d come and see you."
Li Weihuan’s eyes flickered upon hearing that she had come from his Second Uncle’s place. So, was Nanxi there?
He clenched his fingers and then heard Xia Zhen asking, "What happened just now? I saw the nurse leaving with red eyes. Were you bullying her again?"
"No, Auntie Zhen, I didn’t bully her. I was just asking her some questions."
"As long as you didn’t, Weihuan. You’re twenty-five this year, it’s time to grow up. Once you’re discharged, I’ll ask your Second Uncle to help you find a job, something steady. It will get better with time."
Li Weihuan forced a smile, "Thank you, Auntie Zhen."
Xia Zhen pursed her lips and didn’t say anything. Although she disliked Qi Qun, she genuinely cared for this great-nephew of hers.
After leaving the hospital, Xia Zhen visited the supermarket to buy some fresh fruits and vegetables. She then called Auntie Qiu and asked her to come over and clean up.
Only after the call did she find out that Lu Yinchu had already called earlier!
It figured. Given how meticulous her son was, he would naturally not let Nanxi tire herself out by doing laundry.
