An Yiqing blinked playfully, a sly smile on her face, "Well, then why did I just feel the temperature drop?"
Gu Yelin’s gaze shifted subtly, his expression unchanging as he said, "You’re wearing too little. Put this shawl on." Without waiting for a response, he draped the translucent silk shawl in his hand over An Yiqing’s shoulders.
An Yiqing looked at Gu Yelin’s domineering action with a mix of laughter and helplessness in her heart. Today, she wore a strapless white dress that indeed revealed more skin than the ones she had worn before—at least, that’s what Gu Yelin thought. In truth, An Yiqing’s strapless dress wasn’t low-cut at all, not even exposing cleavage, but merely showcased her fair and round shoulders along with her delicate collarbones.
But Gu Yelin felt his treasure was wearing far too little.
However, it was now early summer and, no matter how jealous Gu Yelin was, he couldn’t possibly expect An Yiqing to wear a thick shawl and risk heatstroke, so after much consideration, he reluctantly chose a thin, breathable silk shawl that could cover the shoulders.
Yet, the always strategic Gu Yelin had miscalculated today.
An Yiqing’s previously exposed shoulders were indeed covered by the gauzy shawl, but the shawl itself was transparent, the hint of fair skin beneath creating a visual impact and stirring desire.
Looking at that imaginatively tantalizing skin under the thin fabric, Gu Yelin suddenly felt an urge to tuck An Yiqing into his pocket and drive home.
"What are you thinking about? Let’s go, everyone is already here," An Yiqing said, waving her sales brochure in front of Gu Yelin and then pulling him toward the Bai Family Villa.
Gu Yelin had no choice but to follow with a cold face, trying to scare away all the envious gazes with daggers of his own.
At the entrance of the Bai Family Villa, the antique luxurious gate had already been opened, and led by Bai Yiming’s father and the direct descendants of the Bai family, as well as many friends of the Bai father and son including An Zhihang and An Zhiyan, all stood at the door with welcoming smiles, chit-chatting and greeting the guests with politeness.

Father Bai and Mother Bai, who were chatting with Gu Hanlin and Gu Tingting, turned their heads, their faces lighting up with surprise upon seeing An Yiqing and Gu Yelin.
"Xiao Qing, Lao San, why have you two come so early today? Come in!" Father Bai called warmly, giving Mother Bai a meaningful look. Mother Bai gave a slight nod in acknowledgment and went inside to whisper a few words to Bai Yiming, who was chatting with An Zhihang.
"Today is Grandpa Bai’s birthday, and as younger members of the family, we naturally should arrive early," An Yiqing replied with a polite smile.
Just then, Bai Yiming, having just received a message from his mother, looked up in surprise and met An Yiqing’s gaze as she turned to look his way.
Suppressing the surging joy in his heart, Bai Yiming, dressed in a red outfit, stepped forward elegantly with long strides. His eyes, his whole world, were filled only with An Yiqing, so much so that he completely overlooked Huang Yiyi, who had been approaching him with a friendly gesture.
Huang Yiyi had just entered with her father, Huang Xing, and from a distance, she saw the handsome Bai Yiming in red. To her, Young Master Bai had an unmatched appearance and an excellent family background. Though not from an Ancient Martial Arts Family, his status and wealth greatly satisfied her.
Lifting her delicate chin, encouraged by her father Huang Xing’s gaze, Huang Yiyi walked towards Bai Yiming with small, graceful steps, her face showing a touch of shyness.
Coincidentally, Huang Yiyi arrived just in time to block the line of sight between Bai Yiming and An Yiqing, leading her to mistakenly think that Bai Yiming’s attention was on her.

However, instead of the expected greeting and tender treatment, there was only a gust of cold wind and Bai Yiming’s retreating figure.
