Chapter 30
Mu Yunyao, Su Qing and Li Shi were brought to the carriage by the incredibly friendly shopkeeper . Only when did they leave the city, did Su Qing and Li Shi come back to their senses .
“Little Yunyao, you……what……,” Yang Shi stared at Mu Yunyao in shock . She studied her intently, it was hard to believe that this little girl was bawling uncontrollably just a few days ago . In a split second, she turned into someone so foreign to her . She heard the conversation between the shopkeeper and Mu Yunyao . She could hear every word very clearly, yet she could not understand a thing . She merely felt that every single sentence had a deeper meaning to it .
Qing nervously grabbed Mu Yunyao’s hand, her heart was filled with worry and anxiety . Although Mu Yunyao had told her that she had learned many things in her dream, she felt that this only worsened her anxiousness rather than dampen it .
Mu Yunyao massaged Su Qing’s hand . She raised her head and gave a shy smile . She took in a deep breath and said, “Auntie, I learned that stitching technique from one of the books that belonged to Father . I secretly practiced it and found that it was not difficult . Today, Father has passed away, and Mother and I have to take care of Grandma . The three of us are unable to do any rough work . Just now, I was also actually unsure whether I would be successful . I figured that if I seemed calm and steady, they would take me more seriously . Auntie, please don’t laugh at me . ”
“You little girl, you have indeed studied with your Father before . People with knowledge are indeed amazing . However, just now, that shopkeeper gave all that thread to you for free, could he be planning to make use of you in the future?”
“Spring Embroidery is very successful, they probably will not mind that bit of thread . ”
At the gates of the city, they met up with Yang Shi’s husband, and then they all returned back to the village .
When the carriage entered the village, many people gazed at them in awe . When the chests of threads were removed from the carriage, there were many gasps by the villagers .
Before Mu Yunyao could say anything, Yang Shi told the whole story about their encounter in Spring Embroidery, causing everyone to go dizzy .
When Mu Yunyao started stitching, the ladies and girls of the village all gathered at their house . It became very crowded .
Yang Shi’s relationship with Su Qing was good . She accompanied Su Qing to deal with the village women . “Don’t squeeze, all these thread and cloths are very expensive, in the future when she’s done, the shopkeeper of Spring Embroidery will be buying all these back . It mustn’t be dirtied!”
The crowd immediately became quieter . They all stared hard at Mu Yunyao, who was hard at work .
“Gosh, is this embroidery? I feel dizzy just by looking at it! That thread is as thin as a hair!”
“With your rough hands, you are only able to hold the big needle used to sew the soles of shoes . Forget about using that embroidery needle . The moment you hold it, it would be lost in your hands . ”
“I might not be able to do this kind of embroidery, but that does not mean I can’t look! Just let me enjoy this, next time I can even show off my newfound knowledge to others!”
Initially, some villagers were jealous about that fact that Mu Yunyao was able to get so much thread for free . But, the moment they saw her stitching, the jealousy immediately cleared away . So this was embroidery? This could kill them!
The embroidery needle was as thin as a hair, the thread was even thinner than a hair . Mu Yunyao held the cloth as her fingers moved in such a way that made the people around her dizzy . One moment that cloth was as white as snow, and the next it was already filled with many colours . It was as quick as using a brush to paint on the cloth . Even if they were to learn from Mu Yunyao, they totally believed that they would still be incapable of doing that .
For the first two days, everyone was incredibly interested in watching Mu Yunyao do her embroidery . But after that, they slowly felt bored . There were not many days till Spring arrives . The villagers wanted to get a bit more rest before they have to get back to work on the field .
Yang Shi, on the other hand, upon seeing that Su Qing would sometimes forget to eat as she was too busy helping Mu Yunyao cut thread, would make some food for Su Qing and Mu Yunyao to eat .
