Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change Chapter 119

Chapter 119: The Fierce Sister

A row of officers stood at attention, their expressions filled with reverence. Despite Wen Yu being the youngest and lowest-leveled of the four supreme commanders of the Empire’s army groups—the other three were all above Level 70—her authority within the Eastern Army was no less than theirs.

Wen Yu nodded, a slight smile on her face. “Well done, everyone. You’ve worked hard.”

She glanced at the gradually closing Void fissure and said calmly, “The Sixth Court shouldn’t make any major moves for now.”

The Eastern Army’s main defense line was against the Sixth Court, ruled by the Void Overlord known as the Filth Overlord.

However, due to the Divine Revelation’s rewards that converted the human world into a data-based system under its control, the true forms of the Void’s great terrors couldn’t easily descend onto the frontlines.

Even if they could, they would face opposition from the true gods of the Celestial Sacred Realm.

Humanity’s main enemies from the Void were typically the legions led by Void Lords serving these great terrors.

The recent battle was just another routine clash in the endless war between humanity and the Void—one of countless skirmishes humanity had endured and would continue to face.

Intelligence reports indicated that the Sixth Court’s attention was shifting to other worlds. Wen Yu surmised that the Eastern Army might have a brief reprieve.

Just then, Wen Yu’s expression shifted as she turned to see a middle-aged officer hurrying toward her through a teleportation gate.

“Adjutant Sun?” Wen Yu frowned slightly. This officer, Sun Ting, was both her adjutant and a trusted confidant.

Sun Ting arrived before her, saluted, and cast a glance at the officers of the 7th Legion. The officers, sensing the nature of the situation, tactfully excused themselves.

Once the officers had departed, Wen Yu asked, “What’s the matter?”

Adjutant Sun’s expression darkened as he replied, “Commander, there’s been an incident in the Imperial Capital.”

Wen Yu’s face immediately grew cold. “Is it Xiao Xu?”

Wen Yu cared deeply for her younger brother. In fact, he was the person she cared about most in the world.

Sun Ting handed her a document and reported, “The young master had a conflict with the Qin family at the Divine Revelation Auction House… The Qin family acted ruthlessly and killed Colonel Zhao. The young master was also expelled from the auction house.”

Sun Ting’s face showed a trace of grief as he finished speaking. Zhao Tong, Wen Xu’s personal steward, had once been the head of the Eastern Army’s Officer Academy and was a respected veteran.

Sun Ting himself had studied under Zhao Tong at the academy and felt a deep sense of loss at his death.

Wen Yu’s face darkened, her aura radiating a terrifying intensity that made Sun Ting tremble. The commander was clearly enraged.

As she read the intelligence report, she quickly pieced together the events that had transpired.

“Qin Xian…” A chilling light flashed in Wen Yu’s eyes. She had, of course, heard of Qin Xian—another SSS-tier professional after her, lauded as the greatest genius of the human world.

Initially, Wen Yu hadn’t paid much attention to him, as he was more than a decade younger than her—a figure of a different generation.

However, his actions today had infuriated her. Not only had he killed Zhao Tong, but he had also humiliated her brother, Wen Xu!

When Wen Yu was thirteen, her parents died unexpectedly, leaving her and her brother to depend on each other.

Their sibling bond was unbreakable, and Wen Yu regarded her brother as her sole tether in this world, someone she wouldn’t allow to suffer any grievance.

Now, Qin Xian had bullied her brother and killed Zhao Tong, whom she regarded as family. This was an unforgivable trespass against her bottom line.

Wen Yu was well aware of the Qin family’s formidable power. As a progenitor family with a thousand-year legacy, their foundations ran deep. They had more than a dozen powerhouses above Level 70.

She was the commander of the Eastern Army, with hundreds of thousands of professionals under her command and countless strong fighters.

Moreover, her teacher, Regent Lu Ji, was a Level 90 powerhouse. She would demand justice for her brother, no matter the odds!

The document in her hand burst into flames, disintegrating into ash. Wen Yu’s icy gaze fixed on Sun Ting, who lowered his head, chilled to the bone.

“Make arrangements—I’m returning to the Imperial Capital.”

Wen Yu cast a glance at the corpse of the Profane Twin Progeny in the distance and said coolly, “It’s about time I reported in anyway…”

Though her tone was calm, Sun Ting could hear the anger simmering beneath her words. He quickly nodded. “Understood. I’ll arrange your travel and notify the military department immediately.”

As one of the Empire’s four supreme commanders, Wen Yu’s position was highly significant, and any visit to the Imperial Capital required prior notification to the military authorities.

Sun Ting hurried away, knowing full well that a storm was about to brew in the Imperial Capital.

Imperial Capital – Cardinal Council

As the Empire’s Chancellor, Qin Ming’s schedule was always packed. After meeting with two foreign envoys, he was set to discuss critical national matters with Regent Lu Ji.

Qin Ming was already aware of the events at the Divine Revelation Auction House.

“A former Imperial Colonel killed?” Qin Ming’s expression remained calm as he sipped his tea, showing no sign of concern. To him, this was a trivial matter.

For the Qin family, even if Qin Xian had killed a current colonel, they had the influence to sweep it under the rug without much effort.

Secretary-General Song Qi spoke gravely, “There’s another matter. The Ministry of Supervision has reported that someone is using the Void Compass to search for the Emperor… It seems this is tied to the Regency.”

Qin Ming’s brows lifted slightly, immediately grasping Qin Xian’s intent.
