Phoenix Reborn In One Piece Chapter 143

Jaya Island, Mock Town.

This place was a lawless zone in the Grand Line, a paradise for all pirates.

To be more accurate, it was a paradise for pirates who had lost their dreams.

That's why it was mockingly called the "Town of Mockery."

After two days of sailing, the Dream Ship arrived safely at Jaya Island.

The air here seemed thick with chaos and violence. The streets were filled with sudden, intense fights breaking out over the smallest things.

For example, someone might draw their sword just because they didn't like the look of another person. Others would brawl over something as simple as a piece of bread.

"This place is a complete mess," Anya muttered, looking around and taking in the chaotic scene. She had never seen such disorder before.

"Well, it *is* a lawless zone. By the way, Nami, how long will it take to store enough magnetic energy to reach the next island?" Ryuen turned to Nami and asked.

"About four days. But Ryuen, we still don't know the pattern of the Upward Sea Stream yet," Nami said after a moment of thought.

Ryuen frowned slightly.

He looked up at the sky, his eyes following the seagulls soaring freely above.

The white clouds, set against the blue sky, formed all sorts of strange shapes, as if telling mysterious stories of the heavens.

From the clues they had gathered so far, the crew knew they needed to ride the Upward Sea Stream to reach Skypiea. But to do that, they had to figure out the pattern of when and where the stream would appear. Ryuen already had a plan for that.

"Hog, go ahead and finish the design for modifying the Going Merry. I'll handle figuring out the pattern of the Upward Sea Stream," Ryuen said confidently.

"Got it. I'll have the design ready by today," Hog nodded. Nᴇw ɴovel chaptᴇrs are published on NovᴇlFir(e).nᴇt

"Ryuen, what should we do now?" Nojiko asked.

"Since we're stuck here for four days, let's find an inn to stay at first. Then... we'll each find our own fun," Ryuen said with a sly grin, his mind already spinning with a mischievous idea.

The others nodded, not bothering to question Ryuen's sudden burst of energy, and headed toward the only villa-style inn in Mock Town.

"Wait for me, you guys!" Ryuen called out, quickly catching up.

To make sure they could rest properly during their stay, the crew decided to rent out the entire villa inn.

"After being at sea for so long, it feels so good to lie down on a proper bed on land."

In a seaside room with floor-to-ceiling windows, Nami flopped onto the soft bed, stretching out and savoring the comfort and peace of being on solid ground.

She closed her eyes, fully immersing herself in the moment of relaxation.

"Nami, the view here is really nice, isn't it?" Nojiko murmured, gazing out at the beach.

Sunlight streamed through the windows, warm and comforting.

Nojiko's face was filled with a contented smile, as if all her exhaustion had melted away.

Outside, the waves gently lapped against the shore, creating a soothing, rhythmic sound. In the distance, ships sailed across the horizon, leaving ripples in their wake. The two of them quietly admired the beautiful seascape, feeling a deep sense of gratitude.

"Nojiko, Nami, Ryuen says we're going out to explore the town. Are you coming?" Daisy's voice called from outside the door.

"We're coming!" Nojiko replied.

After quickly changing their clothes, the two of them headed to the lobby of the inn.

"Are you all heading out for some fun?" the innkeeper asked cautiously as he saw the group preparing to leave.

"Yeah! Do you know any fun places to check out in Mock Town?" Leah asked, her voice filled with excitement.

"Well, from what I know, Mock Town isn't exactly known for having many fun spots. But I do want to warn you about something. If you see anyone with this mark, stay away from them. They're part of Bellamy's crew!" the innkeeper said seriously, showing them the symbol.

"Why? Are they really strong?" Kuina asked, her tone tinged with excitement. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity and anticipation, as if she was already looking forward to a challenge.

Seeing Kuina's eager expression, the innkeeper was taken aback. He thought to himself, *Are these people really that bold?*

He quickly explained, "You're new here, so you might not know, but I have to tell you. Bellamy is a notorious pirate with a bounty of 42 million berries! He's ruthless and cruel. If you cross him, the consequences will be dire."

The innkeeper's face was stern, and his eyes showed genuine concern. After all, no one wanted to mess with someone like Bellamy.

"42 million berries?" Nami's eyes lit up at the number, and a delighted smile spread across her face.

She was already calculating in her head how much money they could make if they took down someone like that.

"Uh... yeah. So please, don't provoke them," the innkeeper said, looking a bit confused. He couldn't understand why the group seemed even more excited after hearing about Bellamy's bounty.

"Well, thank you for the warning, we'll keep it in mind," Ryuen said, clearing his throat and putting on a serious expression.

Then he turned to the rest of the crew and said, "Alright, everyone, let's go! I heard the bars here are lively, and the cherry pies are great. Let's check them out!"

"Let's hurry!" Nami said with a grin, pulling Ryuen along as the others quickly followed.

The innkeeper watched as the crew left without a care in the world, his face filled with worry. He really didn't want to lose such wealthy guests.

As they stepped out of the inn, the crew looked relaxed and carefree.

They were already discussing how much bounty money they could make if they captured all the pirates in town.

"It probably won't be that much...

If 42 million berries is enough to dominate Mock Town, the other bounties here probably aren't very high," Nojiko said, tapping her chin thoughtfully.

"Who cares? If we capture all the pirates with bounties here, it'll definitely add up to more than 100 million berries!" Ryuen said confidently, his eyes gleaming.

At the mention of 100 million berries, Nami's eyes instantly turned into berry symbols!

It looked like they were about to make some serious money today. Hehehe~~~

With that, the crew quickened their pace and headed straight for the bar.
