Players Invade Cyberpunk Chapter 207

In the central open space, more than a dozen members of the Sixth Street Gang gathered together. Each one looked fierce and didn’t pay attention to the two trucks that had driven in. In the middle of them was a sofa, but the person sitting there wasn’t William, but another middle-aged man.

After the vehicles stopped, Gloria was the first to jump out, followed by eight fully armed players who walked over to her side one after another. From all perspectives, they looked pretty good, and at least they were in no way intimidated by the Sixth Street Gang enforcers around them, who outnumbered them more than tenfold.

Are you kidding? They’ve at least seen big scenes a few times before; this is nothing.

After glancing around, Gloria asked, "Where’s William Burn?"

"Stop looking; I’m in charge of this business," the middle-aged man on the sofa said, clearly disdainful. He took a big gulp from the glass on the table, "I really don’t know how much kickback you gave to that guy William for him to agree to buy this scrap metal—ugly and shabby—and let the brothers take over territory wearing this stuff. I don’t know how many laughs we’ve gotten, but I don’t want to agree."

The henchmen around him laughed along with him, clearly not interested in making this deal.

But even a potato could see that he was bluffing; his eyes had been glancing toward the truck cabin ever since the door opened.

And indeed, that’s how it was. One of the exoskeletons was sent to Pepper’s side to be disassembled and attempted for imitation, while the other heavy exoskeleton was placed at the forefront where the Sixth Street Gang and Valentino clashed, leading to an unsurprising showdown.

This MT-1 Captain America, though it didn’t perform well in complex terrain, did remarkably in the street’s frontal battles. Regular firepower couldn’t break through the heavy shield in this exoskeleton’s hand. The Sixth Street Gang’s technicians even cut an observation and shooting slit in the big shield and added a simple support frame, making it easy for the user to mount the machine gun on the shield and shoot.

And the most crucial factor wasn’t the performance of this exoskeleton; it was the conspicuous old United States flag painted on it that made the militia of the Sixth Street Gang wearing this exoskeleton a banner in itself.

Wherever ’Captain America’ appeared, the Sixth Street Gang militia could unexpectedly rally morale, making it difficult for the Valentino gang to resist.

Because the exoskeleton had a good impact on the frontline, the Sixth Street Gang agreed to William’s persuasion to order more than a dozen exoskeletons from Lin Miao, adding up to twenty units including William’s order.

Facing the laughter of the Sixth Street Gang, "The matters between you are not related to my company; how you reconcile is your internal issue. This is now the time for our transaction, the goods have arrived—where’s the payment?"

The man put down the glass and picked up the revolver beside him to admire it.

"Payment? Whoever promised you, you go find them. I’m here to collect the goods."

Around them, the Sixth Street Gang enforcers even had a vague tendency to encircle them, and they even closed the warehouse door.

But neither the eight players nor Gloria showed any hint of fear, and the big guy even took a step forward provocatively.

"Damn, what do you mean, double-cross?"

He didn’t even bother to pull out his gun when he said this.

Causter frowned; he had made it so clear, why were these people still pretending not to understand?

Give some knife music, are you kidding me, do you understand nothing?

Having stayed in Night City for so long, Gloria knew that, at this moment, as long as one or two thousand were handed out, the matter would be settled, payment and goods both clear, but she didn’t want to fork out the money.

Causter simply clarified, asking his underling to place a document box on the table.

"This batch of goods isn’t worth the price in my eyes. Here’s twenty thousand—you can take the money and leave the goods—or you all stay. Got it?"

Gloria looked at this guy, who was apparently a mid-level player in the Sixth Street Gang, and asked coldly.

"Is this your decision, or the decision of the people above you?"

Causter, self-assured, shouted loudly.

"What’s the difference, brothers, tell her?"

"No difference! We’re the kings of this turf!"

Another round of laughter.

"Thirty-six thousand, not one penny less."

Seeing the people before him completely uncooperative, Causter slammed the table and stood up, glaring at this woman who seemed oblivious to danger, shouting out angrily.

"Are you looking to die? You think you can walk out alive today?"

With that, the surrounding Sixth Street Gang members cocked their guns, their sounds clearly audible in the closed-off warehouse.

Yet Gloria remained unfazed, kicking the coffee table and knocking over Causter’s previously placed glass, then in front of everyone, she unzipped her jacket.

Seeing Gloria’s action, Causter wanted to laugh, thinking what era it was to still attempt seduction, but the next moment, he was unable to laugh.

"Holy... you crazy woman!"

Causter was almost scared to death, trying to retreat but falling back onto the sofa.

Because beneath Gloria’s clothing wasn’t a gentle body, but ultimate danger.

Just like her, the big guy and Potato behind her unzipped their jackets, and the eight players each drew their weapons, aiming back to back at the surroundings. The guards of the Sixth Street Gang immediately backed down, no longer daring to shoot, retreating one by one.

Because attached to the bodies of the three were blocks of explosives, wrapped with wires and detonators, with the switches in their hands, even ticking sounds could be heard.
