Players Invade Cyberpunk Chapter 395

Three doctor players and four bodyguard players fell into pools of blood, lifeless, while two survivors had sparks flashing between their brows, twitching. The NPC driver left trembling on the side could only say that living in Night City, things are always inevitable.

"What’s going on here? Who ordered you guys to do this?"

Placid arrives with his crew, breathing heavily, still struggling to control his temper, though the bulging veins on his clenched fist suggest he’d love to twist someone’s head off right now. Check latest chapters at novel fire.net

"They resisted and even killed several of us."

The gang members are flustered but dare not say they made the first move.

Following Brigitte’s orders is one thing, but going against Placid is another. No one among these small fries wants to offend him.

"Brigitte said they were Internet Supervisor agents posing as doctors to trouble us."

Internet Supervisor agents...

How could Placid not have thought of such a thing? But these doctor players seemed quite honest, monitored day and night from the moment they entered Taiping Continent till they left. No one stepped away from their job, busy from dawn to dusk, where would they find the time to stir up trouble?

"Where’s the evidence?"

If it were mercenaries or other minor characters, dying would be dying, but these people were doctors sent for free consultations. Without enough evidence to prove it, all Haitians would face big trouble.

Unlike Brigitte, Placid thoroughly understands the mercenaries in that pub—they’re a bunch of crazies who’d rather die than part with their money. And although they seem to have little connection with each other, troubling one would attract the whole lot, many gangs had suffered this fate, being kicked to death.

The Voodoo Gang may be strong, but the Haitians are not. What if they attack Haitian residents in the Taiping Continent’s no man’s land?

The enemy wouldn’t be lacking explosives.

"Evidence... evidence..."

Seeing Placid increasingly murderous, the gang members were almost scared to the point of wetting their pants, hastily rummaging through the three ambulances, with pills scattered everywhere and medical equipment brutally broken open, attempting to find a bug or something else inside.

Meanwhile, from a distance, many Haitian residents watched from afar, not understanding why these gang members were capturing those doctors, but limited by the Voodoo Gang’s status among Haitian crowds, they didn’t dare ask much.

"Look on top of the car roofs."

At this moment, Brigitte entered the camp with her crew, throwing photos to Placid.

"Without intelligence, I wouldn’t have let anyone take action. Take a good look, here are the people you brought."

Placid looked silently, recognizing the Internet Supervisor uniform. If it’s true, he’d be in big trouble.

After fidgeting for a long time, the gang members did find a switch inside the car, pressing it lightly, and the car roof made a sound, unfolding and lowering a screen roughly fifteen inches in size.

Brigitte smiled lightly upon seeing this.

"Here’s the evidence, you still have....."

"Dun dun dun dun dun~~ Dun dun dun dun~~ Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun~~"

Before she finished her words, classical music sounded behind the screen, and the image brightened—a lion with a lush mane roared from within a circular frame, and some words were engraved on the frame.

"Metro Goldwyn Mayer"

It was a cartoon, a cat and a mouse doing all sorts of funny comedic acts to the rhythm of the music, dating over 140 years ago.

Placid couldn’t help his face twitching, crumpling the photos in his hand, "This.... this is your evidence...."

Brigitte’s face turned so dark that it was hard to see, signaling to a close confidant who immediately understood, pulling a gang member engrossed in watching the cat and mouse, then linking a data cable to the program, the animation on the screen immediately halted and exited, with a vast amount of data displayed on screen.

"Avatar: The Last Airbender"

Dozens of cartoons, tokusatsu, and sci-fi films were pulled up, listed, followed by many live surgical teaching videos, disease analysis, but notably no information pertaining to the Internet Supervisor or Voodoo Gang.

Placid’s face was about to wrinkle up.

"This is.... your evidence....."

"Impossible!" Brigitte panicked, something so sure seemed to have gone wrong somehow, "The photo clearly shows they installed portable radar in the car."

Quickly walking to a trembling driver, she grabs and pulls him to the car, pointing to the animation above.

"What is this supposed to mean? Where’s your radar!"

The driver’s legs trembled as he pointed shakily to the panel behind the player, "In... in there."

The confidant swiftly pulled off the panel, and indeed there was a portable radar inside. Yet they heard the driver lamenting.

"Those doctors.... the doctors said to install a player for cartoons in the ambulance... to pass the time or show to children, the director agreed."

After all, who could refuse to watch an episode of Tom and Jerry in their leisure time?

Brigitte almost fainted from anger, why on earth put a player on a bloody ambulance, aren’t you too old to be watching animations from over a hundred years ago, aren’t you immature!

"Then what about those Internet Supervisor agents!"

"The major shareholder... the major shareholder said to design an intelligent system for the hospital, optimizing ambulances on duty outside to rush into disaster zones anytime through the best route for rescue, but feared the roamingAI might appear, so entrusted military tech to ask Internet Supervisor people to come help design the firewall..."
