Akashi crossed his arms, a bored expression drawn on his face as he watched the matches play out.
Sweat covered his face, and his breath tightened.
A burning desire to take a lot of money and bet it was in his mind.
But he knew that he couldn't do it, for the night being tonight.
He had a plan to throw off the Dai Lee agents, who were present here.
And the Equalists would attack tonight, and they would make a show.
'I feel bad for Korra though.' He thought.
Korra and her team didn't make it to the finals. Needless to say, Mako blamed her somehow. And, knowing that it wasn't her fault, she had snapped at him and left the team for good, telling him to fuck off and all.
After that, Asami was the one to take the blame after trying to calm him down, and then Bolin, for making a joke.
'And people call me petty.' Akashi shook his head.
That day, when Korra cried on his shoulder and complained, he regretted missing such drama.
It was worth paying money to watch, considering that there are no TVs yet, and Akashi had a life in a world where TV was the entertainment.
'And his girlfriend broke up with him.' Akashi smirked, not feeling slightly guilty for ruining someone's life. Matter of fact, he may have made his life better. Asami had called him a thug, unable to change, and left him. And Korra didn't try to take him.
"And so, we made it to the final…"
Two teams sat opposite each other.
The Wolfbats team, with their sissy-looking leader, was dominating the other team.
And as the other team fought back, the referees acted against them, claiming that there were errors and faults, which everyone knew didn't happen.
And it was obvious by now that injustice was happening to the other team.
Yet, no one could stop whatever happened.
The ones who gambled on the opposite team booed.
The ones who made their bets on the Wolfbats team turned their heads to the other side and pretended not to see anything.
Like a wise man once said, "Corruption is bad, only when I'm not involved in it."
And Akashi just lowered his head, shaking it, knowing that whoever gambled tonight wouldn't get their money back.
"And so, the winners are…"
As the commentator was about to announce the winner, the roof suddenly broke.
From the stadium, men in green masks entered.
And from the far roof, wires fell. A man with a mask was the one who got most of the attention among those who descended.
Amon went on, making a speech about how benders were getting out of control, doing injustice and bribing the judges, setting the Wolfbats team as an example.
Akashi, out of professional courtesy, decided to let him finish the speech.
On the plans they had agreed on, Akashi was supposed to act as a hero.
But truth be told, had they not had a plan, Akashi would have kidnapped one of those men in green, taken their clothes, gotten closer to Amon, and attacked him.
And if they were too numerous, he'd have to call for backup from the police department.
After Amon finished his speech, the first thing he did was put the Wolfbats team on their knees, then put his hand on their foreheads.
"Now, their bending is taken away." Amon said.
The Wolfbats team stood up, dazed, and pushed their hands further, trying to do some bending.
The technique Amon used seemed to be similar to the one that the avatar used to take Ozai's bending.
As for how Amon learned it, who knows… if it happened because of bloodbending damaging chi points, Aang's Chi-bending technique wouldn't be enough to restore people's bending. And if Amon did some serious damage by using bloodbending to the chi points, waterbending healing should be enough to fix it.
'Again, if it's just about bloodbending and chi points, Korra wouldn't be able to use her airbending in canon after losing all of the other elements. I wonder if I could learn such a technique.' Akashi thought to himself.
"Amon!" Akashi stood up and yelled, "This is an act of terrorism and illegal use of forbidden forms of bending. As a member of the Police Force, I'll have to take you to the police station."
As he said that, everyone turned to him. Akashi's cheeks persisted and didn't turn red, despite feeling embarrassed to say something like that out loud.
His balls literally shrank from cringing at himself.
"Humph… Just another corrupted cop," said Amon, "You don't deserve my attention."
"What?" Akashi pretended to be angry as he stood up.
Few men in masks who stood on the spectators' seats approached him and attacked him.
They seemed to have remembered him.

Probably, they'd remember him every night before sleep, and every day after waking up.
They approached to attack.
But since this arena wasn't Akashi's property, he didn't hold back.
And with some air bending, he made them fly away.
Glaring at Amon, he couched, and gathered air around him. As he pushed his hands backward, the air pushed him forward, making him fly toward them.
At that moment, Amon looked at the lieutenant and extended his hand to him, demanding the electrical rode.
The lieutenant gave it to him without a second thought, showing how much he trusted Amon's decisions blindly.
Amon twisted the trigger, electrical sparks dancing on the rode, showing everyone how dangerous it was. And then, he aimed at Akashi and threw it at him.
Akashi feigned surprise. He could easily parry such an attack. But he let himself take it.
'Son of a bitch.' Akashi thought as he tilted his head backward and fell toward the water beneath the ring.
And at that moment, a tail of a large shark swimming appeared, heading toward Akashi, and shocking everyone.
Akashi sank deeply along with the shark.
And soon, only blood appeared on the surface of the water, making some of the crowd faint, while the others held their mouths in shock.
