At four o'clock in the morning, in the western waters of Paldea, the night was as dark and still as the water beneath it. A lone fishing boat, illuminated by soft lights, floated quietly on the sea's surface.
Onboard were fifteen fishermen from the Paldea region, their day's work complete. After a long day of fishing, the crew had retired to their cabins, anticipating a morning where they would transport their haul to the nearest city for sale.
In the small duty room, two fishermen in sleeveless vests sat at their posts, dozing lightly. These men were the night shift crew, tasked with staying alert for any unexpected dangers- whether it be a sudden storm, tsunamis, or attacks from wild Pokémon. Such
unpredictabilities required vigilance every night.
Suddenly, a faint, metallic ding-dong sound echoed through the quiet space.
One of the fishermen, Colton, jolted awake, rubbing his eyes as he tried to shake off the lingering sleep. He yawned loudly and looked around. The sea outside was calm, with no signs of wind or rain. Everything appeared peaceful.
"Another quiet night," Colton muttered, stretching and reaching down to pat the head of his Lanturn, who was resting nearby. He was ready to go back to sleep.
But just as he leaned back, something on the radar caught his eye.
In the dim glow of the radar screen, a massive object was moving rapidly beneath the sea, several kilometers away. The size of the thing was unlike anything Colton had ever seen before.
In an instant, his sleepiness vanished. He quickly nudged his sleeping partner, shouting, "Matsumoto! Wake up! Something's happening!"
Matsumoto, who had been in a deep sleep, groaned in frustration. "What now?" he grumbled, still half-asleep.
Colton pointed at the radar, his voice tense. "Look! There's something huge heading straight for us, and fast!"
Matsumoto's eyes snapped open as he looked at the radar. His face went pale at the sight of the enormous figure racing toward their ship.
"What... what is that? Is that a Pokémon?"
Colton shook his head, his voice unsteady. "No! It doesn't match any known Pokémon! The only sea Pokémon that big is Wailord, but this is even bigger than that!"
Suddenly, a surge of adrenaline hit both men. Colton leaped to his feet and slammed the alarm button. "Everyone needs to get ready! Now!"
A shrill alarm echoed across the fishing boat, jolting the crew awake. One by one, they gathered on the deck and in the radar room, their faces turning pale as they learned of the terrifying situation unfolding beneath them.
"What is that?!" one of the fishermen gasped, staring wide-eyed at the radar screen.
"It's enormous! Must be dozens of meters long! Could it be some kind of sea monster?" another crew member shouted, his voice trembling.
"Back when I was a kid," one of the older fishermen began, his voice shaking, "my grandmother used to tell me stories about terrifying creatures that live deep in the ocean. She said if humans disrespect the sea, the monsters will rise and-"
"Stop talking nonsense!" another crewman interrupted, trying to stay calm. "There are no sea monsters! Everyone, stay focused and prepare for the worst! Jasper, start the boat! We need to get out of here now!"
At the command, the crew snapped out of their fearful stupor and sprang into action. They hurriedly began starting the engine, hoping to flee before whatever was lurking beneath reached them.
But just as hope began to rise, one of the crewmen screamed, "It's moving faster than us! It's right below the boat!"
Panic rippled through the crew again as another voice rang out, "Wait! What is that, it's getting foggy! Look at how thick the fog is!"
Fear gripped their hearts. The fog had rolled in so fast, blanketing the sea and swallowing their vision in a thick, eerie mist.
"Damn it! That thing is here!" someone shouted frantically from the radar room. "It's coming up fast! The radar shows it'll reach the surface in ten seconds! No, seven seconds! Six! Five!"
The air thickened with tension as waves began to swell around the boat. The once-calm sea had turned into a roiling mass of water. Waves slammed against the hull of the boat, shaking it violently.
"Three seconds! Two seconds!" The crew braced themselves for impact. "It's coming up- now!"
With a deafening roar, an enormous black shadow broke through the surface of the water. The sea erupted in a massive wave that crashed against the ship, tossing it like a leaf in a storm. The entire boat rocked violently as the massive shape beneath the water sent ripples through the dark sea.
Crew members were thrown across the deck, shouting and clinging to whatever they could. For a moment, it felt like the fishing boat might capsize, but miraculously, it didn't.
As the boat finally began to stabilize, the crew lay scattered across the deck, their hearts pounding with fear and adrenaline.
The fishermen aboard the boat stared in shock and disbelief at the massive black shadow looming through the mist. The hazy moonlight danced across the fog, barely revealing the enormous figure towering over the sea. No one could move or speak, paralyzed by fear.

Suddenly, the massive figure stirred.
The giant Dragonite, its body shrouded in mist, gazed across the sea toward the distant land of the Paldea region. It felt a sense of both tension and anticipation. After parting ways with the two members of the Hero Expedition Team, it had set out for this place. However, despite the directions given by Mew, the journey had been difficult.
The first time, Dragonite had ended up in a place of endless snow and ice. The second time, it had arrived at an isolated island, filled with strange humans and Pokémon. A man named Mustard had told it that this was the wrong place for its search.
Now, after days of wandering, it had finally found the right location.
Determined, Dragonite lifted one massive foot and took a step forward, each movement slow
but deliberate. The sea beneath it rippled as it moved closer to land.

The crew on the fishing boat were shaken from their stupor by the sound.
"What is that creature?" one of the fishermen whispered, still in awe of its sheer size.
"Its heading for the Paldea region!" another crew member realized, panic quickly setting in. "If it makes landfall, the whole city will be destroyed!"
"We can't stop it ourselves!" someone else cried. "Quick, call the police! We need to inform Officer Jenny and the Paldea Alliance. They have to send trainers to stop this thing before it reaches the shore!"
In a frenzy, one of the crew scrambled to the radio, hastily dialing the closest police station.
After a few tense moments, a familiar voice crackled over the radio. "This is Officer Jenny with the Porto Marinada Police Department."
The fisherman on the other end spoke in a shaky voice, "This is a fishing boat from Paldea! We've spotted a massive monster in the sea-it's heading straight for the Paldea region! You have to stop it before it reaches the shore!"
For a brief moment, Officer Jenny thought it might be a prank, but hearing the genuine fear in the fisherman's voice, she remained calm and collected.
"Give me your exact coordinates," she said sharply.
"32 degrees east longitude and 127 degrees north latitude," the fisherman replied hurriedly.
Officer Jenny quickly marked the location on her map. Within moments, she grabbed her equipment and rushed to the nearby lighthouse by the sea. Using a telescope, she scanned the distance. And then, she saw it—a gigantic black shadow, partially hidden by fog, steadily
moving toward the coast.
"This is... serious," she muttered to herself, her brow furrowing.
Realizing that this was beyond what her small police department could handle, Officer Jenny quickly grabbed her communication device and contacted the Paldea Alliance.
