The first week went fruitful. The Pokemons were training in their normal routine. Shedinja was mastering 'Shadow jump', Magikarp was 'Splashing' and "Tackling'. Nidorino was mastering its own moves. Bulbasaur had just learned 'Leech seed' and was mastering it. Beedrill with 'Swords dance' and 'drill run'. Gogoat was resting like a queen and Charmander was in shock.
4 days prior, Axel wanted Charmeleon to fight with Oak's Charizard. He requested Oak to not let Charizard use its aura cause he knew that Charmeleon could not handle it. And it was an eye opener for Charmeleon. It had never in its life thought that its species could be so powerful. The difference was like Heaven and hell. Charmeleon had become a bit lazy in the past month but now it was in full throttle. It was practicing its moves with no plans but it was working hard.
Axel also didn't give it any direction for now. Charmeleon had insulted Axel and his Pokemon when it just evolved. So, a lot of them were still angry about it including Axel.
Axel wanted Charmeleon to realize its mistake and apologize to him and his team. Until then he was not going to teach it anything. Oak and Blue also supported Axel in this. A Pokemon must respect its trainer.
For the past week, Axel had been going on to the list of Pokemon's egg and baby Pokemons to add to his team. Every night was spent on it and he had narrowed it down to 2.
Axel wanted to narrow his weakness on typings. As of right now, Axel lacked 8 typings. They were:
At first he wanted a Dragon type. But Oak suggested against it. It would take a lot of resources and a lot of time for Dragon type Pokemons and Axel had none of that. Dragon types need a lot of care too. Axel had just started his journey so he was not ready for it.
Axel gave it a long thought and agreed. Even in games, it was too hard to raise a Dragon type Pokemon. Imagine how hard it would be in real life.
For a Fighting type, he wanted an Infernape but there were no baby Pokemons or egg for it. And for others, he didn't like the collection of Pokemons for other types except for Absol and Elekid.
Absol was a dark type and Elekid was an Electric type. Absol didn't have any evolution but Elekid could become Electivire.
Both of them are great Pokemons but they have their advantages and disadvantages.
For Absol, it had 2 abilities
1. Super Luck, which raises the critical hit ratio
2. Justified, which raises the attack of the user if hit by dark type move.
Absol was called a 'disaster Pokemon' cause it could predict disasters. Using its horn, it could sense even subtle changes in the sky and land which were awesome but Absol normally does not like to fight. This was the biggest thing that Axel was afraid of. Cause if it did not like to fight then Axel had no use for it.
As for Elekid, It also had 2 abilities:
1. Static, which increases the chances of the opponent being paralyzed.
2. Vital Spirit, which prevents the user from falling asleep.
Both were great abilities and Elekid was a great electric type Pokemon if raised well but both of its abilities had a severe disadvantage. Outside the battle, both of the abilities will attract wild Pokemons of higher level.
This was the worst for Axel. Axel was not a powerful trainer right now. Axel could not risk fighting a higher ranked Pokemon as of right now. This could directly lead to his death.
So, Axel was in a pickle. He asked for Blue and Oak's advice and both of them said that it was his choice. Oak also added that being a trainer Pokemon, Absol may want to fight. It would depend on how he would raise it. There were very few trainers who have raised Absol as their Pokemon and Absol had shown a good fighting spirit.
After thinking about it for a long time, Axel had decided to pick Absol. He could not risk fighting powerful wild Pokemons now and he could train Absol's thoughts. After it sees how his team practices, he felt that Absol would love to fight. He was pretty confident in it. This was due to Absol's mother who was a King ranked Absol.
Being a king ranked it could speak in human language. It assured Axel that, its kid would love to fight if it was grown up that way and the thing of Absol not wanting to fight is just a hoax.
Axel was satisfied after he heard it but Absol also said that it wanted to spend at least 2 months with its Kid after it was born. Axel was okay with it. He was going to stay with Oak and Blue for a couple of months so he had no problem with it.
Oak had said that it would take 1 week for the egg to hatch so he was very expectant of it.
Right now they were in the research center and Axel was staring at the 5 TMs of 'Hidden Power' in it. Those were for 5 of his Pokemons; Bulbasaur, Shedinja, Nidorina, Charmeleon and Beedrill.
Magikarp was not ready for it right now and Gogoat had still not accepted Axel as its trainer. For a second, Axel wanted Charmeleon to not have it as he wanted to teach it a lesson but he decided against it. He wanted to teach it a lesson not totally boycott it.
