There were percentages on the side of ability and hidden abilities. This change was super helpful. Axel proceeded to check the completion rate of ability and hidden ability of other Pokemons in his team. Most of them were in 10-20% range but Shedinja's ability 'Wonder guard' had a whopping 100% completion rate. This meant that Shedinja had mastered this ability fully. Axel had thought that it would be the case but seeing it with his eyes was a different matter entirely. He was happy for Marcus.
He then realized that he got the quest whenever he battled Lance, the future Champion. Will he get those quests every time he challenges Lance? He would have to see about it after a week.
Lance had to make some changes to his Pokemon. He was angry with himself after losing the battle with Axel. Anyone would be angry if they lost to a Piloswine who had 2 times weakness against fire who was fighting with fire-type Pokemon like Arcanine. Lance felt that he should also concentrate on status moves like Axel's as it would be a huge help for him.
He also wanted Arcanine to learn 'Extreme speed'. Very few Pokemons could learn this move which includes legendaries like Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Regieleki, and even 'Rayquaza'. The move enables the user to move at blinding speed which cannot be seen with the naked eye. This was the reason for the move's rarity. The move was so fast that even the user could not comprehend its surrounding. The move was like 'Chidori' but with more speed (Naruto reference)
Meanwhile, Axel was thinking of teaching Piloswine some new moves. He had many ideas but Piloswine could not learn all of those in 2 months. So, he had to prioritize. For, now he wanted Piloswine to learn 6 moves; ' Endure', 'Rest', 'Sleep talk', 'Substitute', 'Icicle Spear', and 'Dig'
Axel could make a healthy strategy with those 6 moves and it would not be that hard to learn. It could learn 'Rest', 'Endure', and 'Substitute' from Nidorino and Shedinja. 'Icicle Spear' was just an improved version of 'Ice shard'. 'Sleep talk' and 'Dig' could be learned with the help of Mark again.
Axel gave Piloswine 10 days to learn all the moves and 13 days to master all of them up to level 10. It was not a hard task. With the help of Piloswine's potential, Axel's superpower (Overgrowth) and hard work, it could easily complete this task with distinction.
The other Pokemons were also doing a good job in their training. Everyone was motivated. Axel had decided to comment on his team's battle. It was his duty as a leader.
Axel was harsh on Lorelai for choosing the wrong Pokemon and not training it hard enough. Of course, he didn't say it in front of poor Jynx. Ryker had a good Pokemon but lacked battle strategy. Lance didn't have good move options and Lyra was just average.
Axel told them to come up with a plan for their weakness and tell him tomorrow.
Somewhere in the Sinnoh region,
A middle aged woman picked up her phone and dialed some number on it. The woman had some wrinkles on her face showing that he was not aging very well. She was slim, had short hair and was wearing a lab coat.
Tring.. Tring... Tring.. Tring... Katchak...
"Hello, Oak. How are you doing?"
"I never imagined that you would call me to know how I am living", replied Oak.
"I didn't imagine that a wrinkled old woman would call me old. I must be going crazy"
"You are getting on my nerves"
"And you are wasting my time Carolina. Tell me the reason for your call" said Oak with an irritated voice.
"It is Prof. Carolina for you. I called you to take my granddaughter as your successor."
"Oh really??? And why would I help a girl from the Sinnoh region to be the next Pokemon master?"
"Cause I am using my favor."
"Alright. But you must know that she would have to pass my test"
"I know. You don't have to be smug about it"
"So, when is she coming here?"
"She is already on her way. May take her 2 months to reach your place."
"Alright, bye," said Oak and hung up his phone. He started to enjoy his morning tea. "She would be furious when she learns that I already have a successor. Haha...."
"But dad, won't that girl coming here would be a waste of time?"
"It won't be a waste for her, Deliana. Carolina had helped me in the past and asked for a favor in return. If the girl passes my test she would also be my successor."
"But I don't think that the girl would pass the test. Only 3 people have passed the rest till now" said Deliana.
"I would not underestimate the girl if I were you. Carolina always boasted about the girl with pride. She would not do it if the girl was normal"
"Oh, I suddenly feel bad about Axel now.", said Deliana. Axel had spent 2 months with them. She had grown attached to the silver-haired kid.
"You don't have to worry about that. Axel would not be affected by it even if the girl passes the test which I highly doubt"
"But you just said to not underestimate the girl"
"Yes, but I am the master of that test. No one would say anything if I made the test a bit more difficult" said Oak with an evil smile.
Deliana was already familiar with Oak's personality. So, she didn't say anything about it. She also knew that Oak liked Axel very much.
"By the way, what is the name of the girl?" asked Deliana.
"Hmm.... It has been a long time since I talked to Carolina.. I think her name is ..... Cynthia"
