"Beedrill, start with 'String shot'"
"Sandslash, 'Mudshot'"
Beedrill easily dodged the attack and used 'String shot'. With the help of 'Calm mind', the move was faster and stronger. It didn't use the 'String shot' on Sandslash cause that would be stupid. With the help of 'Sandstrom' and 'Roll out' it had gone faster. It was still not fast at Beedrill though. It started to use multiple 'String shot' on the ground.
"Sandslash, now use 'Stone edge'"
"Beedrill, dodge it and fire it with 'Drill run'.
Beedrill was successful in both of the instructions. It dodged the attack and hit Sandslash with 'Drill run'. It was a critical hit. The use of 'Cal mind' was coming into effect. With the help of its ability, Scope lens and 'Calm mind', the power of the move was huge and Sandslash was again thrown away.
"Sandslash, use 'Crushing claw'"
Sandslash started to concentrate. Its claws started to glow brightly. It was slow but Axel could feel that this was trouble. After that, it immediately used 'Dig' and went inside the ground.
Due to the effect of Sandstrom, Beedrill could not fly high so it was just hovering around.
Sandslash came from the other side and hit Beedrill with a powerful move. The claws were very sharp, fast and the attack was very good.
Beedrill tried to dodge it but it was hit nonetheless. The move was powerful and hurt Beedrill. It was flown away from the impact. But that was it.
Beedrill stood the ground with some difficulty. Meanwhile, Sandslash looked like it was sweating and panting. That move seemed to have taken a lot from it.
"Beedrill, use 'Bug bite'"
"Bzzzzzz", it said and moved at a fast speed. It used the move and now Sandslash was hit hard. It fainted immediately.
'Crushing Claw' was the move that Sandslash had perfected when ranking up to elemental rank. It was a better version of 'Crush Claw'. It used ground type energy and it was devastating.
But using the move had taken a lot of Sandslash stamina. That was normal for an elemental-rank Pokemon. Since they had just started to use these kinds of moves, it took a lot from them.
Not all of them were blessed like Axel with the system. The system had a feature that made training in moves easier.
"Sandslash is unable to battle, Challenger Axel wins the round. The gym leader is requested to send out the next Pokemon."
"Your Beedrill is strong. I can see that your Beedrill could easily win against the initial elemental rank Pokemon.", remarked Giovanni.
Beedrill had ranked up with 'Resolve' to Stage II. It was no wonder that it was more powerful that other initial elemental rank Pokemons. Initial elemental rank Pokemons were those who had just ranked up to elemental rank.
It was advised for the gym leader to use those Pokemons when a trainer is challenging his 3rd gym in the Kanto region.
"Why don't we spice it up a little? I want you to feel a challenge at least.", said Giovanni and threw a Masterball.
"What is that guy doing?", asked the spectator.
"I don't know. Beedrill is not a ground-type Pokemon. And why he is using that Beedrill?", remarked Koga.
"Does challenger Axel need to change his Pokemon?", asked Lily. Axel shook his head.
"Are you ready?", asked Lily to both of them. Giovanni nodded his head.
Axel had a feeling that this Pokemon was way over his league. Beedrill was a bug/poison type Pokemon, not a ground-type Pokemon. He didn't know what was happening here. He looked at Koga and Koga nodded his head signifying that it is okay.
"Why are you using a Beedrill in this match?", asked Axel.
"Your Beedrill is strong but you have not trained it well. I want you to know what it is lacking?"
"Why are you helping me?"
"Isn't that one of the duties of a gym leader", said Giovanni with a smile. He continued, "Don't worry I would not hurt your Beedrill."
Axel then looked at Lily and nodded his head.
"Beedrill, use 'Poison jab'", said Axel.
Beedrill increased its speed and its drill was not coated with poison. It moved at an inhuman speed and was ready to strike. But Beedrill 1, dodged the attack with ease.
(For the sake of this battle, Giovanni's Beedrill would be called Beedrill 1)
Axel told it to use it again but it was dodged. After 4 minutes, most of its attack has been dodged. Some of it landed but Beedrill 1 was clever to negate it with precision.
"It is now my time to attack. Are you ready?", asked Giovanni.
"Beedrill now, do it.", said Axel.
After hearing from Axel, Beedrill started to use 'String shot' but it was using in itself. It started to cover its whole body in 'String shot'. It took some time and Giovanni waited for it. After it was done, all of its body, except for its wings, drill, and eyes were covered in 'String shot'. It became like an armor.
This was a new move that Axel had tasked Beedrill to perfect. The move was not perfect but Axel decided to use it in desperate times. Beedrill 1 was a lot stronger than Axel had anticipated. He knew that he may lose the whole gym battle cause he didn't have the confidence to win against that Beedrill 1.
However, he didn't want to give up. The armor acted as a defensive mechanism for Beedrill.
"Beedrill, use 'Poison jab'. Show them how it is done", said Giovanni.
Beedrill tried to dodge the attack but some of it was hit. The move was different than how Beedrill used it. Beedrill used a single but powerful jab but Beedrill 1 was using a small but multiple one.
Its poison was also better than Beedrill. It seemed to have a poison core when Beedrill had a bug core.
After some time, the armor cracked and Beedrill was hit. It flew away and fainted.
