Shedinja used the move again, and this time it hit Steelix in the face.
The move was far more destructive than before; Steelix's defense had finally been breached. It used 'Dig' again and disappeared into the ground.
That was a good strategy. Since the move was so sudden, Steelix could not figure out what had happened, so it went underground to buy itself some time.
After a minute, it emerged and let out a loud roar.
It had come out for blood. The ground started to shake like a mini earthquake, and suddenly the sand started to move, causing a massive sandstorm with Shedinja trapped in the middle.
The power Steelix displayed now must not be underestimated. It was using all of its might to finish the battle. The sand surrounded Shedinja and quickly formed a sand dome, similar to Nidorino but with a significantly higher power level.
Shedinja tried everything to escape but couldn't break free. With the sandstorm raging, movement became even more challenging.
Then a dark brown glow emanated from Steelix's head, and it charged towards the sand dome.
Axel already knew what it was and warned Shedinja.
"MARCUS... get out of there fast... NOW!!!"
The attack was 'Head Smash,' a rock-type move that was super effective against Shedinja. Steelix head-butted the sand dome with all the power it could muster.
The impact was so huge that it created a loud sound, like an explosion. Steelix was satisfied with the attack and knew that even if Shedinja hadn't died, it was seriously injured.
Steelix noticed a black shadow behind it and was hit by the same black ball again.
Shedinja had used 'Switch' with its substitute when Steelix used 'Head Smash.' That's why it was still alive. It had narrowly escaped death twice in this battle. It didn't want to escape and cower in fear.
It now decided to finish this battle once and for all.
It felt power raging through its body. It collected and held that power and then let it flow outside.
Suddenly, a black mist spread from its body, covering an area 10 meters wide and 20 meters high. Nothing could be seen inside the black mist. Steelix was blind; only Shedinja could see.
While Steelix was blinded, Shedinja felt that it could see more clearly in the black mist. It felt that the mist was its home and an extension of its body. It felt stronger than before.
Marcus has learned a new move. Name the move.
"Let's call it Shadow Domain."
Steelix didn't know what was happening, so it used 'Dig' again and went underground. It didn't want to come out, but Shedinja did something to make it resurface.
It emerged from another hole in the ground, but this time, it was tightly restrained by shadow tentacles. This move was 'Shadow Control.'
The power of 'Shadow Control' seemed ten times more potent. Instead of Steelix's own shadow, the dark mist transformed into shadow tentacles that completely enveloped Steelix's body, rendering it immobile.
Meanwhile, Axel couldn't see what was happening outside.
Shedinja used 'Hypnosis,' and miraculously, it seemed to have an effect on Steelix. It then fired a 'Shadow Ball' that struck Steelix.
The visual of the move had changed. Instead of a large shadow ball moving toward Steelix, it felt like the dark mist was assisting it, causing the move to spin faster. By the time it reached Steelix, the move had doubled in size, dealing a heavy blow.
Steelix was now seriously injured from that move. Another hit would be disastrous. Concerned for its life, Steelix moved at blinding speed towards Shedinja and used 'Crunch.' Even though it couldn't see anything, it could feel the presence of Shedinja, determining its exact location.
Shedinja didn't know Steelix could move so fast. It didn't have time to dodge the attack, so it entrusted the black mist to assist it.
Steelix's teeth were just 3 cm away from Shedinja when it suddenly stopped. It couldn't move. What the hell was happening?
Shedinja had commanded the dark mist to halt the attack, but the control of the mist was now wavering. Stopping Steelix in mid-air proved too much for the mist, and it started to dissipate.
Shedinja knew it couldn't maintain control for much longer and used 'Shadow Ball' again towards the motionless, airborne Steelix. The power of this move was lesser than before, but it still surpassed a regular 'Shadow Ball.'
And the mist started to disperse. Some of it came toward Shedinja and entered its body, revealing the state of Steelix to everyone.
Axel had already instructed Shedinja to keep Steelix alive if possible, so it didn't kill the Pokemon.
Axel threw a Master Ball and caught Steelix. Then, he looked at the others, realizing that the battle was almost over. The battle of the pseudo-king rank had already concluded, and they had emerged victorious.
Only the battle against the pseudo-champion rank Pokemon remained. Even though Alakazam was fighting against three pseudo-champion rank Pokemon, it hadn't been defeated.
That was something. They could mass teleport until they defeated it, so Axel had to wait. He couldn't interfere in such a battle.
