Amanda had been interested in Butterfree from the moment it used 'Fire conversion.' It was a strong Pokemon and had shown three new moves, which were very rare for a wild Pokemon.
It was also a bug-type Pokemon and highly resistant to fire-type attacks since it lived on this island. This was a perfect Pokemon for her to catch.
"Yes, go ahead. But I want it to teach these new moves to my Pokemons too," said Axel.
"Deal! I owe you one," said Amanda and threw a master ball.
Since Axel was the one who fought it, he had the right to decide who could catch it. Amanda was very grateful that Axel agreed.
It was a good Pokemon, and Butterfree was not violent. So, it would be easier to control it. But Axel already had 13 Pokemons now. Catching too many would not be good for him. He already had Beedrill as a bug-type Pokemon.
Axel didn't take this battle seriously. If Alakazam and Shedinja were serious, they would have ended Butterfree in a minute. He wanted to test Butterfree's new moves, and he had gained valuable insight.
First was 'Fire conversion.' This move didn't make it immune to fire, but it converted a part of the fire to empower itself and also made it resistant to fire. If Gogoat, Beedrill, or Venusaur could learn it, their battle powers would increase.
Next was 'Bug life.' Axel could deduce that Butterfree had to store some bug-type energy to use this move because it had only used it one time. But this move was extremely good. First of all, it was fast. Second, it not only healed its wounds but also some of its stamina.
It was a must-move for Venusaur. If Venusaur could manipulate grass type in this way, then it could heal instantly. If it was in the forest, it might be able to store grass-type energy in its body and use it an infinite number of times.
The last one was 'String pierce.' This could be a good move for Beedrill. It lacked a new move of an attack nature, and this move would boost its attack.
They moved for some time and decided to camp as it was already evening. Amanda used many healing potions for Butterfree. It was not completely healed, but all of its serious injuries were cured. Xatu became an intermediary for Amanda to convince Butterfree. It also had the talent for telepathy.
It was not hard to do it. Butterfree was the only one of its kind on this island. Most of its friends and family had died due to high heat. Since this place was so far from any land, they could not even migrate. Some of them were brave enough to move, but it didn't know what happened to them.
It refused to die and finally came up with 'Fire conversion.' The move, as the name suggested, would transfer the high heat to bug-type energy, and it could use 'Bug life' to heal itself. That was the only reason it was able to survive until now.
When Amanda offered it a chance to live in a different place, it instantly agreed. It wanted to get out of this hell hole.
"Amanda, ask it about the island," said Rome.
Until now, they didn't have full information about the island.
Butterfree said that this island mainly consisted of fire-type Pokemons. There are stronger and dangerous Pokemon near the center of the volcanic mountain. Butterfree was not strong enough to contend with a powerful fire-type Pokemon, so it never went there. However, it had heard that there was a huge battle in the center of the island some days ago.
"That is interesting. It was a good decision to catch this Butterfree. What do all of you think about it?" asked Rome.
"I think that the center of the island, the volcanic mountain, is dangerous," said Amit.
"Yes, it might be above our pay grade," added Adam.
"Why do you think that?" asked Rome.
"Even though Axel made it easy, Butterfree is a strong Pokemon. If it is not strong enough to go to the center of the island, I don't think that we could too," said Adam.
"Hmm... That is a valid option. Axel, do you have any insights?" said Rome.
"I think we should call for back up. I don't think that a pseudo-king rank Pokemon would be enough. We may need a king rank Pokemon or above," said Axel.
It would take another 3-4 days for them to reach the center of the island. As per Butterfree, the Pokemon would start to get stronger with every step until they reach the center. So, Axel was almost confident that the strongest Pokemon of the island was a king rank or above.
"I will give Andrew a call to . He would take some time to reach us. Tomorrow, we would start to move slowly until he catches up. Sleep now, I would take the first watch. We have a lot of things to do tomorrow."
All of them started to move slowly. They didn't go straight to the center but started to wander around. It was important for the explorer team to explore every part of the island, and that was what they were doing.
They found some Pokemon, but unlike before, all of them were fire types. Water type Pokemons like Gyarados, Poliwrath, Starmie had been a huge help for the team. The temperature was increasing as they started to move towards the center of the island.
"Hey, look at that. I think we could enter there?" said Amit, pointing out the cave.
They had found numerous caves on this island. It may be due to volcanoes or any other reason, but the caves could be found every hour. Almost all of the caves were too small for a human to enter, except this one.
"Let's go inside. We might find something interesting," said Rome.
