There were 4 reasons as to why Axel decided to cooperate with Mark. First of all, for the points. He was in dire need of huge amount of points and this seemed to be the only viable option for him. He could not spend all of his time doing quests and battles.
As for the second point, it was Mark himself. Mark was a brilliant researcher and his input could help him in the research. He knew how to evolve Eevee but he didn't know the scientific process of it.
Thirdly, Axel would not be spending all his time doing research these 3 months. Most of his time would be spent on training. He would only spend a couple of hours per day. That is where Mark comes in.
And finally, the most important reason would be the influence. If his research became successful, the Venu family could gather a huge influence in the Kanto region, and Angela and the elders would owe him a lot.
He may also get lots of benefits and resources from this which is exactly what he lacked right now.
After concluding the meeting, Axel made his way for his second visit. The second person was none other than Adam.
"Hey kid, are you looking for me?", asked Adam. Axel went to the reception of the school and inquired about Adam. Turns out he still seemed to be in the school. So the receptionist called Adam.
"Yes, I came here to ask a favor from you."
"Alright, why don't we talk in my office."
They both went to Adam's office. It was on the first floor of the building. The room didn't seem to be big. There were a lot of books in the cupboard and a luxurious table with 2 chairs on either side. The color of the room was a mixture of white and orange.
After they made themselves comfortable, Adam continued "So, what kind of favor are you expecting from me? Mind you I always believe in equal trade"
"I wanted to practice Aura. I wanted that training book from you. You must have a spare copy of it right?"
This was the reason he came to visit Adam. Axel had also tried to train his intellect. He didn't go to the library, but he read some of Mark's research that he received.
But no matter what, his intellect didn't seem to increase. So, he thought to give it a try to Aura.
"Well, you are right. I certainly have a copy. But you should know that you could buy it with 5000 points. So, why should I give it to you? Besides, what can you even trade in return?"
"You should know, that I don't have 5000 points right now. But what I can assure you is that I could learn Aura within 3 months."
Hearing this, Adam showed a surprised expression and started thinking. Axel knew that he had stabbed at the right spot. Adam was a teacher so seeing one of his students gain the power of Aura was something he would want. Besides, that was just an extra copy that he didn't need.
"Ok, but what would you do if you can't do it?", inquired Adam.
"If I can't do it, then I would return 10000 points to you as interest"
"No, points don't matter much to me.", said Adam shaking his head.
"Then what do you want?"
Adam thought for a few seconds and said "If you can't do it then you would have to be a permanent member of Venu family."
Now it was Axel's time to be surprised. That was a lot to take in. He had lived here for a week and he didn't find any negative things that would make him leave the family. But being a permanent member of the Venu family was a different matter. After thinking for some time Axel replied, "Alright" and shook Adam's hand.
"Do you want to draft a contract on this?", Axel asked.
"No, I believe in the words of man. I know you would not be back on the deal" He got the training book and left the building.
It was already 7 p.m. the night. The Crazies were celebrating Axel's first evolution. They had already mastered 'the lost way of smoking'.
"Damn! Your Kakuna seems to have good potential. It is bigger than an average Kakuna. You are going in a good direction, I tell you.", stated B after gulping down the beer.
"Yeah, when your Kakuna evolves, it would be one of your most powerful Pokemon.", added A.
Meanwhile, K was thinking something deep. Over the days, K had subconsciously thought of Axel as his rival. They were of the same age and Axel seemed to have powerful Pokemons compared to him.
K slammed the beer glass on the table and announced, "I have decided to get a Bulbasaur !!"
"Bro, you know how hard it is to get one. Why don't you catch a Weedle like us? It would be easy to raise.", said A.
"No, I have decided. I have only 1 Pokemon now. If Axel can raise 5 Pokemons on his own, why can't I do that to 2? Besides, you know I have a good chance of getting one."
That was right. K may not have a powerful Pokemon but he had graduated early and had not asked for any rewards till now. He could get a Bulbasaur if he played his cards right.
"Bro, just calm down and puff this cigarette first. Now tell me why do you want to have Bulbasaur so much if it is so hard?", said Axel calming down K. He knew why K decided this. It was obviously because of him.
"Bro, you don't know much but the resources, and training methods of the Bulbasaur line are the highest in Venu family. There are practical training methods for each of its moves and tactics of its battle plans.
One of the Pokemon has this. And I always wanted to get a Bulbasaur since I was a child. Even the most Powerful Pokemon In Venu family is a Venusaur which is a Champion-ranked Pokemon"
