Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom Chapter 298

Murkrow flapped its wings a few times, creating small whirlwinds that dispersed the powder in the air. However, the Venonat attack was only beginning.

The first Venonat activated its eyes, emitting a faint red glow. Soon after, the eyes of all the other Venonat also began to shine.

Sensing something, Slowpoke emitted a strong blue glow, blocking the red energy emitted by the Venonat.

Cain's expression changed slightly.

Although Venonat is a Bug and Poison-type Pokémon, they possess a certain innate talent for Psychic-type moves.

Adult Venonat can directly learn moves like Confusion and Psybeam, with the red light they emitted earlier signaling the Confusion move.

If it were just one Venonat, Slowpoke could easily handle it, but facing almost a hundred of them using Confusion was a completely different story.

Fortunately, Venonat is not a Psychic-type Pokémon; otherwise, with so many at once, even Slowpoke's psychic abilities wouldn't be enough to stop them.

Luckily, since Murkrow is a Dark-type Pokémon, it is immune to these Psychic-type moves.

"Murkrow, use Wing Attack, show them what you can do!"

In the next second, Murkrow, following Cain's orders, flew directly at them, ignoring moves like Confusion and Psybeam, and the Poison powders couldn't reach Murkrow either.

In the dark jungle, Murkrow's black feathers blended with the surroundings, and it quickly started knocking down the Venonat perched in the trees.

One by one, the Venonat fell to the ground, unable to withstand Murkrow's assault.

Another group of Venonat, troubled by Murkrow's sudden attack, couldn't fully concentrate on their psychic attacks against Slowpoke, which greatly reduced the pressure on him.

However, with so many concentrated psychic waves, Slowpoke couldn't use the Teleport move, so if they wanted to escape, they'd have to do it on foot.

With the pressure on Slowpoke reduced, Cain began moving in a different direction with him.

In the opposite direction from Cain, a crowd of grayish insect Pokémon started to appear.

Murkrow, who was fiercely attacking, heard Cain's order, and seeing the approaching Venomoth, turned to fly back to join Cain.

In this part of the forest, even Venomoth appeared in groups, and Cain decided it wasn't worth continuing the fight.

The situation wasn't bad yet, but if they got cornered by a swarm of Venomoth, they'd be in real danger.

The Challenge Island was more dangerous than it seemed.

Cain tossed a Poké Ball, and a sturdy-looking Pokémon appeared.

He jumped onto its back, and along with Slowpoke, who was still resisting the psychic attacks, they climbed onto Tropius's back.

"Tropius, move!" Cain ordered hurriedly as he patted Tropius's back.

Tropius looked around and then glanced at Cain, as if to say, "Do we really have to run from these little bugs?"

Cain wasn't in the mood for jokes and gave Tropius a friendly tap on the head. "Look over there and change your expression."

Tropius looked in the direction Cain was pointing, and instantly its expression changed to one of seriousness.

Quickly flapping its wings, with a gust of wind, Tropius rose into the air.

However, due to the massive trees and branches everywhere, Tropius couldn't ascend quickly.

And the Venomoth were already almost upon them.

Even Tropius, who was at level 40, sensed the imminent danger, feeling that one or two of those Venomoth were particularly threatening.

"Murkrow, use Tailwind, give Tropius a boost!"

As they navigated between the trees, Tropius's speed was limited, while the Venomoth, being smaller, didn't struggle as much with the complicated terrain and approached rapidly.

Murkrow let out a caw, and a current of air surrounded Tropius, increasing its speed thanks to the Tailwind move.

Unfortunately, being among the trees, with dense branches and leaves above them, Tropius couldn't ascend through the forest canopy, and sunlight couldn't reach him, meaning his Chlorophyll ability couldn't activate.

Though Murkrow's Tailwind move increased Tropius's speed, it still wasn't enough to match the Venomoth.

Especially the ones flying in the lead, which were closing in fast.

Cain used his system to gather information on the leading Venomoth.

Pokémon: Venomoth (Green)

Egg Moves: Screech, Toxic Spikes

Base Moves: Gust, Quiver Dance, Bug Buzz, Silver Wind, Tackle, Disable, Foresight, Supersonic, Confusion, Poison Powder, Psybeam, Stun Spore, Signal Beam, Sleep Powder, Leech Life, Zen Headbutt

Learned Moves: Bug Bite, Defog, Snore

Seeing the information about the leading Venomoth, Cain's expression darkened.

At level 44 and with a green quality, Venomoth surpassed Tropius in both level and quality, and in addition, its small size allowed it to move more easily in the dense forest.

If it were only one Pokémon, Cain wouldn't be so worried, but with dozens of Venomoth behind, if they formed a blockade and Slowpoke couldn't use Teleport, they'd be in serious trouble.

Cain took off Murkrow's weight controller and deactivated the weights it was carrying.

"Murkrow, clear a path for Tropius."

Murkrow, faster than Tropius and smaller, could move through the forest without trouble, breaking branches that blocked Tropius's path, allowing it to speed up.

But that wouldn't be enough since if Tropius had a clear path, the Venomoth would also have an easier time flying through.

"Slowpoke, use Confusion to create barriers and delay them as much as possible," Cain instructed Slowpoke beside him.

"Yadon!" Slowpoke nodded. It had endured a lot of pressure dealing with so many Venonat with the Confusion move, and only after climbing onto Tropius's back was it able to start recovering.

Fresh out of its meditation, Slowpoke's psychic energy had regained some of its strength.

A blue barrier of psychic energy appeared in front of the Venomoth.

The leading Venomoth was momentarily halted since, although it could also use Psychic-type moves, Slowpoke's natural ability surpassed it.

With the slight decrease in the Venomoth's speed, Tropius was able to buy a little time to catch its breath.

May this year bring joy, success, and wonderful moments to cherish. 🎉✨
