Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom Chapter 560

Scolipede was less than ten meters away from Cain, needing just a little more time to reach him.

Upon hearing Cain say "wait a moment," Slowking did not hesitate to halt the instant move.

The other Pokémon, including Honchkrow and the rest, positioned themselves in front of Cain, prepared and alert as Scolipede charged toward them.

But Scolipede paid them no attention. When a shadow appeared on the ground, it panicked and quickly turned around, trying to flee.

It could feel the air currents around it starting to swirl, and the shadow cast from above growing smaller.

Slowly, Cain lifted his head to look at the sky, finally managing to see the Pokémon that was causing such fear in Scolipede.

The once-aggressive Scolipede now looked like a mouse, desperate to escape.

However, the Pokémon descending rapidly from the sky would not give it the chance.

As the Pokémon approached, a thin layer of light blue energy surrounded its body, and in a split second, that layer condensed into the form of a ferocious dragon.

Cain watched as the wings, which once seemed soft like clouds, now radiated a powerful and imposing energy as they were enveloped by the aura.

Yes, the Pokémon was Altaria, a Dragon- and Flying-type Pokémon.

The very same Altaria that, upon mega evolution, becomes a Dragon- and Fairy-type, betraying the dragon clan.

As Altaria drew closer, Cain received information about it and understood why Scolipede was so terrified.

Pokémon: Altaria (Dark Blue)

Type: Dragon + Flying

Ability: Natural Cure

Egg Moves: Agility, Dragon Rush, Roost, Steel Wing

Basic Moves: Dragon Breath, Sky Attack, Pluck, Peck, Growl, Astonish, Sing, Fury Attack, Safeguard, Disarming Voice, Mist, Round, Natural Gift, Take Down, Refresh, Dragon Dance, Cotton Guard, Dragon Pulse, Perish Song, Moonblast

Learned Moves: Draco Meteor, Outrage, Heat Wave, Defog

With exceptional potential and Level 59, it was evident that the presence of this Altaria filled even Scolipede, the leader of its group, with fear.

This dark blue Altaria, at the peak of the quasi-elite level, was undoubtedly one of the most powerful Pokémon on this island.

Looking at its moves—Dragon Rush, Draco Meteor, Outrage, and Dragon Dance—each was a highly powerful Dragon-type move that Altaria had learned and mastered.

The speed with which it executed Dragon Rush made it clear it had reached a high level of proficiency with these moves.

Upon seeing Altaria's arrival, Cain fully understood why Scolipede and its followers were so frightened.

Altaria, being Dragon- and Flying-type, had a natural advantage over Bug-types like Scolipede.

Dragon-type Pokémon always exude a certain majesty, with a trace of dragon blood running through their veins.

The concentration of this blood determines how well a Pokémon can master Dragon-type moves—or even if they can learn them at all.

For instance, the little Larvitar in Cain's second team had inherited the moves Outrage and Dragon Dance.

Does this mean Larvitar is a Dragon-type Pokémon?

But it undoubtedly possesses strong dragon blood within, likely inherited from a pure Dragon-type parent.

As for Cain's Tropius, his flying mount, it was merely a Pokémon whose name contained the word "dragon," with very weak dragon blood inheritance.

Altaria, however, is different. This Pokémon is truly a Dragon-type.

Though not a pure Dragon, the dragon inheritance in its body is significant.

Especially this Altaria before Cain—its dragon talent is incredibly strong.

At its current level, even some Pokémon that had recently reached elite status might not stand a chance against it.

On Mythical Island, Altaria is undoubtedly one of the dominant Pokémon.

Cain wasn't wrong to think so. The area he had been transported to was, in fact, Altaria's territory.

The Scolipede forest was merely a small hunting ground within Altaria's domain.

And the meadow where Cain had spent the past few days was the center of Altaria's territory, its resting place.

Scolipede could not escape Altaria's attack.

Altaria's Dragon Rush struck Scolipede perfectly as it tried to flee.

The once-proud Scolipede was smashed into the ground.

Though much larger than Altaria, it seemed like a child in front of her.

This demonstrated the vast difference in power between Pokémon of the same quasi-elite level.

As they grow in level and strength, the gap between Pokémon widens with each additional level.

Every level requires a considerable amount of time to master.

However, the first Dragon Rush was not enough to defeat Scolipede, which tried to rise again, letting out continuous screeches.

It was unclear whether it was pleading for its life from Altaria or calling its group for help.

But Altaria's overwhelming power had left an indelible impression, sinking deep into their hearts.

Even though they saw their leader being attacked, the other Scolipede did not dare to fight back.

After Cain had eliminated several Scolipede groups, they wouldn't cross the line, which showed how terrified they were of Altaria.

Altaria, with no visible emotion in her eyes, flapped her wings again and rose into the sky.

This time, it wasn't Dragon Rush but Sky Attack, a move Honchkrow was very familiar with.

Honchkrow, standing beside Cain, watched in awe as Altaria executed Sky Attack.

It noticed the flaws in its own execution of Sky Attack by observing Altaria.

At least, Altaria didn't need as much time to charge.

As Scolipede screamed, Altaria, with a cold expression, unleashed Sky Attack upon the fallen Scolipede.

Though Altaria appeared delicate and gentle, she showed no mercy when attacking.

Scolipede was defeated instantly by Altaria.

Altaria slowly descended from the sky, perching atop Scolipede's body, casting a distant gaze toward the remaining Scolipede.

The majesty of a regional ruler was unquestionable.

The Scolipede were utterly terrified. Trembling, they began to scatter.

They didn't have the courage to avenge their leader.
