Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom Chapter 626

Since his time on Mythical Island, Cain had been consciously training Floette's Grassy Terrain move.

However, upon returning, Cain began training Floette's Camouflage move.

In grass, Floette's attributes would change to the Grass type.

Cain wondered if, with exceptional control, Floette could choose which attribute to change to using the Camouflage move. If Floette managed to maintain a type change in any battle arena, it could effectively be considered a Grass-type Pokémon.

And if he went a step further—what if Floette could change to any type at will? Would that mean Cain would have a Pokémon capable of adapting to any battle and countering any type?

A Pokémon with all attributes?

With the right moves, Floette could become a defender and supporter in any of Cain's teams, seamlessly integrating into any formation.

Even in single battles, Floette could change her type to counter opponents, giving her a significant advantage.

Of course, this was still just a plan in Cain's mind. Whether it would work or not depended on Floette mastering the key to type changes with the Camouflage move.

For now, Cain wanted Floette to get familiar with the Grass type and control switching to it. His minimum requirement was for Floette to transform into a Grass-type Pokémon at will.

This way, under the amplification of the Grass type, the Grassy Terrain move would become much more effective.

That's why Cynthia couldn't help but praise the effects of Grassy Terrain when she saw it.

By transforming into a Grass-type Pokémon at will, Floette could also fill the gap of not having a Grass-type Pokémon in the team.

"Floette really has amazing talent," Cain remarked with a smile, complimenting his Pokémon.

The praise from both made Floette blush slightly, bowing her head shyly.

Of course, Cain didn't rely solely on Floette's Grassy Terrain move to heal Pokémon. That would insult his title as a breeder.

He pulled out a special Pokéblock for Slowking, allowing it to eat slowly.

With Garchomp, the treatment was a bit more complicated since Cain didn't have a suitable Pokéblock for it.

However, as a Ground and Dragon-type Pokémon, Cain had no trouble preparing a simple treatment formula.

It wasn't a Pokéblock but a medicine.

Based on Garchomp's attributes and current condition, Cain crafted a healing potion.

Cynthia stood by, watching as Cain, seated on the ground, pulled out a considerable amount of materials from his storage space. With a series of seemingly magical manipulations, within three or four minutes, he had created a fragrant potion.

After getting Cynthia's approval, he gave the potion to Garchomp, who drank it.

Combined with the treatment from the Grassy Terrain move, Garchomp showed an expression of relief.

However, Cain's treatment didn't stop there. He pulled out a healing spray and applied it to Garchomp's body, accompanying it with special massage techniques that made the dragon let out small groans of pleasure.

"Grrr!" it emitted softly.

Imagine a fierce Pokémon like Garchomp making a sound similar to a cat's.

Cynthia's eyes widened, watching how Cain's actions transformed her powerful Garchomp into a docile Pokémon.

Garchomp's skin and muscles were quite tough. Despite Cain's trained and strong hands, they still felt sore after the massage.

Nonetheless, the effect was outstanding, as Garchomp closed its eyes and fell asleep in the area affected by Grassy Terrain.

Only then did Cain start helping Slowking recover.

Compared to Garchomp, Slowking was much calmer. Cain regularly gave massages to his Pokémon, helping them recover physically.

This was effective in removing internal injuries they might have.

"Phew! Almost done," Cain said, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

Both Garchomp and Slowking were quite large Pokémon.

Garchomp stood at 1.9 meters tall, and Slowking, with its crown, reached 2 meters.

Slowking didn't fall asleep but found a comfortable position to lie down in the area affected by Grassy Terrain.

You could imagine it: two Pokémon that had been fiercely battling moments ago now resting peacefully next to each other.

Cynthia looked at Cain with eyes full of gratitude.

She could sense that Cain's treatment for Garchomp not only healed visible wounds but also had other benefits.

Although Pokémon Centers could heal a Pokémon's injuries, there was a clear difference between that and what a breeder could do.

A breeder's role wasn't just about making Pokéblocks but encompassed many other techniques.

These skills had been passed down and refined for a reason.

Cain walked to a table in the yard and sat down, inviting Cynthia to do the same. Then, he served her a cup of tea.

"Cynthia, is it okay if I call you that?" Cain asked with a smile, pushing the cup toward her.

Cynthia nodded, indicating she didn't mind how she was addressed.

"Cynthia, you've been battling for quite some time, haven't you?" Cain asked.

"Yes, how do you know?" Cynthia replied with some surprise.

Cain smiled slightly and sipped his tea, adopting a relaxed attitude.

After all, she was the future champion of Sinnoh. Now was the time to make an impression because there might not be opportunities later.

Better seize the moment!

But Cain didn't dare keep her in suspense for too long, as Cynthia didn't seem very interested in playing along.

If Cain didn't speak, Cynthia wouldn't either, merely sipping her tea in silence.

The situation became slightly awkward.

"Well, it's just that while massaging Garchomp, I noticed its body was very stiff. Its muscles have been tense for a long time. If this continues, it could develop internal injuries that might affect its growth potential," Cain explained.

Cynthia set her cup down and straightened up, paying more attention to his words.

"But don't worry, it hasn't suffered any irreparable damage yet. With the potion I gave and the massage, its body has already started healing. However, for its long-term well-being, I'd recommend not using Garchomp in battle for a week," Cain added.

"A week?" Cynthia murmured.

A week wasn't a long time, but she began to worry about the condition of her other Pokémon.

If Garchomp, her strongest Pokémon, was in this state, how were the others faring?

"Garchomp hasn't been evolved for very long, has it?" Cain asked.

"Yes," Cynthia replied.

The change in Cynthia's attitude was noticeable. Not just anyone could tell how long it had been since Garchomp evolved.

The great con artist, Cain, had returned to the scene.
