While Professor Kukui was fixing the Pokédex, Ilima took Terrance on a tour of the school and prepared to visit Principal Oak.

“Oh, it’s Ilima? Snorlax~”
After Samson Oak opened the door, he looked at the visitors in surprise, then suddenly made an exaggerated expression.
“Uhh….” Terrance stared at him, watching as his face twisted dramatically in an attempt to mimic Snorlax’s expression. His mouth twitched slightly.

“Principal Oak, hello. I’m Terrance.” Terrance let out a sigh of relief and introduced himself.
“Terrance, huh? I know who you are.”

Principal Oak nodded seriously.

Being able to obtain the Island Challenge Amulet and qualify for the Island Challenge saved Terrance a lot of trouble.
However, his main goal in seeking the Island Challenge Amulet wasn’t to participate in the Island Challenge itself. “Roto~!!” Rotom glared at Ilima and Professor Kukui with resentment, shouting in dissatisfaction.
“Rotom, don’t be angry. Let’s talk it out. If you don’t like being researched, you don’t have to participate in the future.” Professor Kukui scratched his head helplessly.
Losing one Rotom wouldn’t be a major issue for his research. If this Rotom truly disliked being studied, it wouldn’t make much of a difference.
“Roto~?” Rotom was stunned.
Seeing Professor Kukui nod, Rotom’s expression brightened with joy.
“Congratulations, Rotom,” Terrance said with a smile.
“Roto~~, Roto~~” Rotom twirled in the air, glanced around, and then suddenly darted toward Terrance’s Pokédex.
“……” Professor Kukui.
Professor Kukui said, “It looks like Rotom really likes your Pokédex—it sees it as its home now…”
“Uhh…” Terrance was stunned.
Professor Kukui picked up the Pokédex and pressed a few buttons, but the screen remained pitch black, showing no response.
“However, compared to certain specialized appliances, your Pokédex’s design doesn’t allow Rotom to perfectly possess it.”
“Terrance, how about letting it stay with you?”

“I can tell that Rotom doesn’t dislike you. So, give me a day, and I’ll modify your Pokédex to make it suitable for Rotom to possess. I’ll also upload all the research data I’ve prepared into it. That way, you’ll be able to access everything much more easily.”
Of course, Terrance knew about artificial intelligence. But he never expected… Rotom could be used this way?
