The battlefield lay in complete ruins.

Spectators throughout the stadium rose to their feet, mouths agape, eyes fixed on the devastation before them.

"What move did that Garchomp just use?"

"If I heard correctly, it was Precipice Blades? But... what kind of move is that?"

"I've never heard of it. Is it some newly developed technique?"

"You idiot! That's the signature move of the Legendary Pokémon Groudon! Were you sleeping during class?"

"Wait, aren't we missing the real point here? This trainer Chris obviously has such a powerful Garchomp - why would he make Kubfu his main battle Pokémon?"

The audience buzzed with confusion. Only those familiar with Precipice Blades truly understood Garchomp's incredible strength. But most people were baffled by Chris's decision to lead with Kubfu when he possessed such overwhelming power.

On the battlefield, Chris watched calmly, waiting for the battle to continue. The match wasn't over yet - Scizor hadn't lost its fighting ability.

Across from him, Keith was drenched in sweat, thoroughly shaken by the devastating Precipice Blades attack. One hand clutched his chest as his heart pounded violently. He'd nearly been scared out of his wits.

You have such a powerful Garchomp and it's not even your main battler - just support? This is pure psychological warfare, pretending to be weak while hiding monstrous strength!

What kind of monster trainer have I encountered?

Keith breathed heavily, completely abandoning his initial assessment of Chris as "just some rookie who got lucky with Kubfu." He now realized that if Garchomp had been the primary Pokémon, his Scizor wouldn't have lasted thirty seconds.

Fortunately, his cautious nature and quick reflexes had saved him at the crucial moment. When Scizor launched its attack, he'd already gripped a Poké Ball. The instant Garchomp appeared and unleashed its terrifying Precipice Blades, he'd released his emergency countermeasure.

Alakazam materialized with its pre-registered move: Teleport.

Just as the Precipice Blades erupted, Scizor vanished. It was instantly teleported to a height of 100 meters, floating there until the devastating rock spears ceased their rampage, then slowly descended under control.

"Clang!" Steel met earth as Scizor landed. Even as the target of the attack, it trembled with residual fear. For a moment, facing Garchomp's Precipice Blades, it had genuinely believed it would die.

"Scizor, use Iron Defense!" Keith commanded. Not knowing what Chris's other support Pokémon might be, he had to remain completely focused and prepared.

Scizor crossed its massive red pincers as silver-white light enveloped its body. In an instant, its defensive capabilities skyrocketed!

"Teleport - interesting," Chris commented with an amused smile.

While Precipice Blades was devastatingly powerful, its attack pattern had limitations. The rock spears emerged from the ground, making it difficult to damage airborne opponents. Actually, not just Precipice Blades - all Ground-type moves shared this weakness.

"However, even if you dodged Precipice Blades, can you avoid the next attack?" Chris drew his second Poké Ball, preparing to release his final support Pokémon.

Keith tensed, immediately readying his own backup Poké Ball. His strategy was simple: survive Chris's second support attack, then enjoy watching Scizor demolish Kubfu in the aftermath.

"I'm counting on you, Lugia! Show them your power!"

Chris's Poké Ball opened, releasing a magnificent black bird. Massive wings spread wide, and the entire battlefield seemed shrouded in shadow.

Lugia soared straight into the clear sky, then pivoted sharply at its apex and dove directly downward. Its enormous body cut through the air, surrounded by white vapor trails like those left by supersonic aircraft.

Still a hundred meters from the ground, the terrifying air pressure was already crushing the entire battlefield. Scizor found itself completely immobilized, pressed deep into the scarred earth surrounded by the remnants of Precipice Blades.

Keith couldn't move either - not from air pressure, but from sheer shock. He stared wide-eyed, unable to believe what he was seeing.

Lugia? A black Shiny variant at that!

How am I supposed to fight this?

His support Pokémon was indeed powerful - a Mega-capable Aggron - but how could it possibly face Lugia, the legendary Guardian of the Seas, master of storms and ocean currents?

If Scizor and Mega Aggron combined could avoid instant defeat from such an assault, it would only be because Chris and Lugia were showing mercy.

The hundred-meter distance meant nothing to Lugia - it closed the gap in a heartbeat. Keith never even released his support Pokémon.

A thunderous explosion shook the heavens. The entire battlefield instantly collapsed - ground caved in, walls shattered, and terrifying energy overflowed like a pressure cooker with a blown lid. Violent air currents created whirlwinds that rattled spectators even through the emergency energy barriers.

The battle was over. Even without confirming whether Scizor had lost its fighting ability, everyone knew the outcome. Under such a devastating blow, neither Scizor nor Keith stood a chance.

When the smoke finally cleared, Scizor lay motionless on the collapsed ground, half-buried in debris with swirls in its eyes. As everyone expected, it had completely lost its ability to battle.

Not far away, Kubfu hadn't moved a single step. It stood calmly on the only intact patch of ground, elevated like a pillar above the surrounding devastation. The entire battlefield had collapsed and shattered, dropping several meters below the original level, making Kubfu appear to stand atop a stone monument overlooking the ruins.

The little Fighter radiated quiet confidence and dignity.

Kubfu's thoughts: "Why did you collapse before I even got to do anything?"
