Around 10 a.m., exciting Pokémon battles were unfolding at the training grounds aboard the St. Louis, with large crowds gathered around each of the ten battlefields.

Each time a Pokémon executed an impressive move or won a match, spectators surrounding the battlefields erupted in applause, cheering for the victors and sympathizing with those who had lost.

Today marked the start of the St. Louis Pokémon Tournament, with the best 100 trainers on board competing, far less than the initial 224 trainers who had applied to compete.

The first round—a one-on-one elimination round—was already underway.

The matches began at nine, and by now, the first round was about halfway through. Due to the intense battles, many Pokémon had sustained injuries.

In the makeshift medical room set up at the edge of the training grounds, the staff was overwhelmed with treating the injured Pokémon.

"Eileen, that recently arrived Rattata's injuries aren't too serious. Just treat its wounds and use a regular healing potion. The healing resources need to be reserved for the severely injured Pokémon."

Sato, dressed in a white coat, had just carefully bandaged a Machop's wounds and given it a healing potion.

After wiping the sweat from his forehead, he frowned slightly as he addressed a young woman in a white coat beside him.

"Ah, yes, understood, Mr. Sato."

Eileen had initially wanted her Wigglytuff to use Heal Pulse on the recently brought-in Rattata, but hearing Sato's words, her face briefly showed a hint of reluctance.

Noticing her Chansey and Sato's Bellossom both looking utterly exhausted, she followed his instructions and efficiently gathered disinfectant, bandages, ointment, and healing potions to treat the Rattata before her.

While treating the Rattata, Eileen's face held a slight look of dissatisfaction, as she disagreed with Sato's approach. To her, all Pokémon should receive the same level of care.

"Don't get too caught up in sympathy, Eileen. Mr. Sato is right. Your healing Pokémon's energy is limited. If they're exhausted on minor injuries, what will we do for those who come in with serious injuries later?" a temporary nurse beside her whispered, noticing her discontent.

"Yes, I understand," Eileen replied quietly, casting a sidelong glance at Sato. Seeing his dedication as he tended to each Pokémon as thoroughly as ever, her displeasure faded, and she nodded at the nurse.

In fact, Sato wasn't the only medical personnel for this Pokémon tournament on the St. Louis—Eileen herself was also a qualified Pokémon medical trainer.

Eileen's appearance had given Sato the impression that she might be related to Nurse Joy, as her resemblance was striking save for differences in hair and eye color.

Eileen was, indeed, deeply connected to the Joy family. Her mother, Nurse Joy Reiko, was a member of the Joy lineage, which was why Eileen had the rare privilege of starting with a Chansey as her first Pokémon.

Additionally, Eileen's mother had secured her admission into the Joy family's private Pokémon medical academy from a young age.

Though only 15, Eileen had already mastered various specialized techniques for treating Pokémon.

However, Eileen wasn't especially passionate about being a Pokémon medical trainer. She had only gone to the academy to fulfill her mother's expectations.

Eileen was currently going through her rebellious phase in life. She chose to follow her heart, deciding to drop out of school and pursue her childhood dream of becoming a Pokémon Trainer.

Of course, becoming a Pokémon Trainer isn't something just anyone can do—the hardships are beyond what most people can understand.

Because of her decision, Eileen's parents were very angry.

Upon learning that she wanted to walk the path of a Trainer, they immediately cut off her financial support, hoping it would force her to return to her unfinished studies.

However, Eileen had graduated from the Pokémon Medical Trainer Academy and had a Chansey, a Pokémon symbolizing a special background.

Thanks to her skills in treating other trainers' Pokémon, Eileen was able to sustain herself and had some resources to raise her own Pokémon.

The main reason Eileen was participating in the St. Louis Pokémon Tournament was to earn money for her upcoming travels.

According to her agreement with the event organizers, she would receive 300,000 PokeDollars as payment once the tournament concluded.

Having come from a Pokémon Medical Academy, Eileen had a kind heart and always treated every injured Pokémon with the same care, striving to do her best in every case.

Her attitude toward medical treatment earned her the friendship of many trainers, and along the way, she also gained the voluntary following of several wild Pokémon.

Eileen's current displeasure with Sato mostly stemmed from her desire for perfection in medical care. She didn't quite agree with Sato's approach of prioritizing certain Pokémon for treatment over others.

Of course, Eileen also knew that Sato's approach was the right one. In this temporary medical room, only her Chansey and Sato's Bellossom had the ability to heal.

With the continuous influx of injured Pokémon from the battles, trying to treat them all perfectly was simply impossible.

Though she didn't agree with him, Eileen couldn't help but respect Sato. She realized that while his medical methods might seem unprofessional, his efficiency was higher than hers, thanks to his excellent healing Pokémon.

When it came to healing abilities, Chansey's egg supply gave it more stamina than Bellossom.

However, in terms of healing efficiency, Chansey with its single-target Heal Pulse couldn't compare to Bellossom's Grassy Terrain, which was a group healing move.

Since the start of the tournament, the two medical Pokémon had treated a total of 72 Pokémon, with Chansey healing 30 and Bellossom a remarkable 42.

"Even though Mr. Sato isn't very professional, he's very good to Pokémon. He's a good doctor, and I shouldn't be upset about this. Maybe this approach really is the best way to help these injured Pokémon," Eileen thought to herself as she carefully bandaged the Rattata in front of her.

However, just as Eileen was starting to change her opinion of Sato, a single announcement made her feel frustrated with him again. The rıghtful source is 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝·𝘧𝙞𝙧𝙚·𝔫𝔢𝔱

"The next battle will be between contestants Sato and Buga. Please head to Battle Arena 3 immediately."

As the announcement ended, Sato, under Eileen's dissatisfied gaze, took off his white coat, returned Bellossom to her PokéBall, and walked briskly toward Battle Arena 3.
