"Kids, we're finished." Seeing Gengar and Rotom's pleading looks, Natsume straightened his clothes.
In the Battle Arena, each Pokémon acted once per round. With his two against Tentacruel's one, he held the advantage.
But now, with countless Tentacool, if each took turns spitting water, he'd drown instantly.
"You two, be ready to Teleport out—prioritize your safety. I'll take Ash over there." Natsume instructed his Pokémon, adjusting his strategy. He planned to let Ash try to talk things out.

The final announcement ended. Natsume, Great Ball Rotom, and Gengar all froze, then turned to look.
Nothing. No Pikachu in sight.
Natsume searched around—still nothing. Wait… wasn't he napping at the docks?
Just as he realized, Gengar tugged his sleeve, chubby hand pointing across the water.
Natsume looked up. Surrounded by countless Tentacool, Pikachu appeared, a blanket tied around his neck like a cape.
Natsume: "…"

The massive crowd of Pokémon ignored Natsume entirely, chattering among themselves.
Brows raised, Natsume pulled out his phone and opened the translation app.
"I wanna sleep on his head, meow."
"Boss, the *clan treasure*'s missing, meow!"
"This Pikachu's been chosen by the clan treasure, and he talks so nicely, meow."
"That human's his Trainer, meow. They chased the bad guys away."
The noisy voices buzzed through the speaker. Natsume fell silent.
Why did Meowth's translations still have an accent?
Still, the content caught his attention.
Clan treasure?
Natsume didn't know what that was, but it clearly mattered.
Sure enough, the giant Tentacruel lowered its head immediately, letting Midchu climb onto it. Pikachu yawned and went right back to sleep.
After eavesdropping, Natsume quietly dissolved the Battle Arena.
For some reason, Pikachu had been acknowledged by the Tentacool swarm.
From him, they learned the latest news—that the villains had already been driven out. And they relayed it to the giant Tentacruel.

"Natsume!" Ash and the others ran up behind him, tense as they faced Tentacruel.
"Hold on—he's not hostile now." Natsume raised his hand, stopping them.

The translation auto-played on Natsume's phone.
"Whoa, Natsume, I want that app too!" Ash said, eyes sparkling.
"Once it's polished, I'll put it on the market." Natsume replied, aiming his phone at Tentacruel, waiting for what came next.
"If you humans keep destroying coral reefs while covering your ears and pretending otherwise, I'll just wait until you leave—then I'll destroy your city, meow!"

Natsume stayed silent for a moment, then began presenting his ecotourism development project—**Tentacool's Revenge Themed Ecological Park**.
The more he explained, the brighter Tentacruel's expression became, while the surrounding humans grew darker and darker.
"Yes, that's right, Mr. Tentacruel. Humans really are despicable." At some point, Natsume had even put on his Tentacruel costume again, speaking with complete seriousness.

Tentacruel looked at him curiously. Natsume hopped from Gengar's head to his.
The sea breeze blew. Beside him, Midchu was snoring loudly.
Natsume patted the little guy's head and asked bluntly:
"I want to know—how did you get so big?"
Tentacruel paused, then explained without hiding anything. Long ago, a meteor streaked across the sky. It shattered, and a piece of red-and-black crystal fell among the Tentacool.
"Wait… the *clan treasure* you mentioned—that's Eternatus's shard?" Natsume gasped.
*Glrru~* *If that's what this thing inside me is, then yes, meow.*
Tentacruel explained that he had only swallowed a small shard of the black-and-red crystal, yet it made him this large.
"Then what about the rest of the shard?" Natsume asked, thrilled.
Maybe he wouldn't even need to extract it from Tentacruel—there could be a piece still intact!
*Glrru—* *It was absorbed by your Pikachu, meow.*
"What?" Natsume froze.
*Glrru glrru* *My kin told me—the clan treasure fused with your Pikachu, meow.*
"Wake up." Natsume shook Midchu.
The snot bubble popped. Pikachu sat up groggily.
Morning already?
He flopped back down. Morning or not, if his Trainer wasn't looking, he'd just keep sleeping.
Natsume glared daggers.
*Pii!* Midchu's fur stood on end like static electricity.
He turned, giving Natsume a sheepish grin.
"Talk. What's going on between you and the Tentacool's clan treasure?" Natsume demanded.
*Pika, pikaka pika!* *Hard as a rock, not comfy to sleep on, meow.*
Midchu waved dismissively, looking annoyed.
Natsume: ???
*Glrru!* *My kin said he climbed onto the treasure to nap. Then it turned into light and fused into his body, meow.*
*Glrru glrru!* *For the treasure to choose him, he's just like me back then—a Jellyfish Warrior, meow!*
Natsume ignored the nonsense about *Jellyfish Warriors*. He grabbed Pikachu's little legs desperately, shaking him.
"Spit it out! Spit it out right now!"
*Pikaaaaa—*
Midchu shut his eyes and went straight to sleep.
