The phone was connected to the car’s Bluetooth, and Zhan Qipei pressed the answer button, automatically activating the speakerphone.
No sooner had the call connected, Su Manhan’s voice, tinged with anger, came through.
“Qipei, where are you now? Is Qiao Jing with you?”
Zhan Qipei heard that Su Manhan’s tone was somewhat off and asked with confusion.

His compromise stirred something in Qiao Jing’s heart. She reclined in the seat only after he stopped insisting on taking her to the hospital, and then she began to speak about the content of the phone call earlier.

She then recounted every detail of the events that had taken place in the mall to Zhan Qipei.
