After all, they had no evidence to prove that it was Lou Xinrou who had put the item in the sachet. What if the sachet originally had those things inside it from the temple?

Zhan Nanqing ran in the direction Zhan Qipei had left. She had expected to find her brother waiting at the lounge’s entrance, but when she arrived, there was no sign of him, not even Tang Yan.

Tang Yan, holding his phone in a hurry, rushed into the elevator. Zhan Nanqing immediately followed suit.
Once they reached the ground floor, Zhan Nanqing saw Zhan Qipei’s figure and followed Tang Yan over.
Just as she was about to raise the issue of the sachet with Zhan Qipei, Tang Yan spoke up.
“Boss, I’ve checked the surveillance footage from the mall,” he reported.

When Zhan Nanqing heard the word surveillance, her heart jumped. With the surveillance footage, wouldn’t it be possible to see who had pushed Jiang Ling?
Zhan Qipei glanced at Tang Yan.

Tang Yan shook his head, explaining he had already reviewed all the surveillance videos from this floor, including those from the stairwells, but only this camera captured anything useful.
“This is the only one,” he said.
Zhan Nanqing was horrified by this segment of the surveillance. Her heart felt like it was in her throat at the moment Jiang Ling nearly fell.
But what concerned her even more was Lou Xinrou’s action of lifting her hand—what was she trying to do?
Suddenly, the sound of urgent footsteps approached from behind them.
Zhan Qipei turned around at the sound and saw a nurse running toward them.
Before Zhan Qipei could ask what happened, the nurse, panting and looking tense, pointed upstairs.

“Thank her? For what? For pushing my daughter down?”
Zhan Nanqing, infuriated, took Tang Yan’s phone directly, pulled up the surveillance footage, and handed it to Liu Zheng with a not-so-pleasant tone.
“It wasn’t Qiao Jing who pushed Jiang Ling down. See for yourself.”
