Second is the issue of manuscript stock. To be honest, I had some stock before, but it was all used up before the Spring Festival.
So during the Spring Festival, I was genuinely writing every day, without any stock to use.
Actually, I went out for a few days meeting before the Spring Festival. Old readers know I have some official duties. I attended the provincial conference for five days before the Spring Festival. At that time, the updates didn’t stop because I was using up the stock. But I didn’t mention it before, feeling it was too dramatic and pitiful.
But now too many people are urging updates, insisting I use the stock... So I have to explain it, there’s really no stock left, none at all.
After the release, I wanted to try accumulating some stock, but since the release, the daily updates have been more than the promised minimum word count, so I couldn’t save any yet.
Moreover, think about it from another angle.
Every day now, 8,000 to 9,000 words, yet you’re still urging updates daily, complaining it’s not enough.
If I write 10,000 words a day, and only release 8,000... If you knew, wouldn’t someone start cursing me again?
Really, readers can never be fully satisfied.
Third is the issue of Chapter cliffhangers.
This, I really want to talk calmly with you.
It’s not that I’m maliciously breaking the Chapter at a cliffhanger to hook you.
But, if you think carefully, whether it’s Chen Jue’s matter, or Domain Realm, or the suspense of various plot points...
Once you see one, you will definitely want to see the next.
From the reader’s perspective, after seeing Mrs. He’s body disappear, you immediately want to know the reason. After knowing Mrs. He’s secret, you immediately want to know the He Family feud. After seeing Mrs. He, you instantly want to know Chen Jue’s secret...
But the story is sequential, interconnected.
To explain one part, it takes some word count and space.
You can’t expect me to explain several parts in one Chapter. Unless I can write ten Chapters a day, but that’s simply impossible. Can’t write it.
Even if I write ten Chapters a day, explaining ten parts, surely someone will curse: Why not explain the eleventh part? Dancing maliciously broke the Chapter here?!
As a reader, you certainly hope all the suspense can be resolved in one Chapter.
But let’s think calmly: Is it possible?
A simple example: Last Chapter, I wrote about Chen Jue’s false accusations...

The truth still has to be written word by word, and the plot has to unfold Chapter by Chapter.

I can’t possibly write it out in one day! Even working to the point of exhaustion, I can only write several thousand words in a day.
The capacity of one Chapter is limited! It’s impossible to write out all the answers to the later parts you want to know.
Fourth is the performance of this book after the release.
The subscription results are average. First-day subscriptions after release are a few thousand. As of now, not yet reached ten thousand.
Firstly, I chose to release during the Spring Festival, so the data is naturally lower than usual.
During the Spring Festival, fewer people read books than usual.
Additionally... this performance is much worse than my previous book "Steady, Don’t Waste". Honestly, I know the main reason.
Before the release, I was mentally prepared because the public version data was already much worse than the previous book.
I’ve already adjusted my mindset. I understand why the performance is . It’s repaying the debt from the late updates of the previous book.
I once said, you reap what you sow. The previous book, everyone trusted and supported me, but I couldn’t deliver.
So for this book, some readers don’t trust me, and I must face this result.
I’m not agitated or anxious, because I’m clear that the quality of my writing is still good. I’ve been writing for over twenty years, and I know how well I write.

As for performance, as long as the quality is good, it should gradually improve later.
Even if this book ultimately doesn’t achieve the performance of the previous one, I accept that.
My mindset is: Regardless of the performance, I’ll finish this book properly. This book is like repaying a debt.
