Thanks to Lily Turner’s excellent performance, Jenny York completely missed any clues. She had thought that bringing up her and Henry Thompson’s wedding would provoke Lily, but in the end, it was she who was provoked by Lily. She found it difficult to calm herself down.
"Lily Turner! You’re so heartless and unfeeling; you’ll face retribution sooner or later," Jenny blurted out and got out of the car.
Freya Yeager, who was talking not far away, wasn’t really focused because she was constantly observing the situation at the car.
She immediately saw Jenny York get out of the car, her brows slightly furrowed, and she instinctively turned her head to look over at Jenny.
Noticing this, the other three also reflexively followed Freya’s gaze.
"Why is she here?" Luke Crowe blurted out when he saw Jenny.
Hearing this, Freya turned her eyes from Jenny to Luke, "She came to see Lily, oh! She seems to have something to say to Lily."
Feeling her first sentence was redundant, she quickly added.
"If that woman comes again, don’t let her onto the set," Robert Xander said, glancing at Jenny walking away, then turned back to Freya and added.
"Got it. You guys chat, I’ll go check on Lily," Jenny’s intentions today weren’t good, so Freya felt worried about Lily, and after quickly speaking to the other three, she turned and strode over to the car.
Meanwhile, inside the car...
As soon as Jenny left the car, Lily could no longer hold it together and started crying on the car seat.
When Freya opened the car door, she saw Lily sobbing on the car seat. Although she anticipated this would happen, seeing it still surprised her.
Hearing the noise, Lily instinctively sat up and was visibly relieved when she saw it was Freya.
Turning sideways, she quickly wiped the tears off her face with her hand, and by the time she turned back, there was no trace of tears on her face.
Except for her red-rimmed eyes, you wouldn’t be able to tell she had just been crying.
"That woman came here on purpose to provoke you; don’t fall into her trap," Freya said, having clearly witnessed Jenny’s actions earlier, understanding her intention was to provoke Lily into losing her cool in front of reporters.
If it were in the past, Lily might not have seen through Jenny, but ever since discovering Jenny’s affair with Henry, she fully realized Jenny’s true nature.
"Freya! I know, I just didn’t react in time for a moment," Lily took a deep breath and silently vowed that she would no longer shed tears for that couple because they weren’t worth it.
She swore to kick them out of her heart completely from today onward.
"People like them aren’t worth your sadness," Freya said, using "them" because she understood why Lily was upset. She patted Lily’s shoulder gently and comforted her, saying, "You’re so wonderful, you’ll surely meet someone who truly cherishes you."
Perhaps she already has, she added internally.
After saying this, she turned to look at a spot outside the car, but the three people who were just standing there talking had already disappeared.
