Easton Holmes turned his head and silently smiled at Lily Turner, then pulled her towards the house. He didn’t let go of her hand until they reached the living room.
"You sit on the sofa first, I’ll get you some water." After settling her on the sofa, he left the living room and headed to the kitchen.
In no time, Easton came back with a steaming cup of water. He bent over to place the cup on the coffee table, then sat down beside Lily.
"Watch some TV and relax, then I’ll show you around." Easton said to Lily while reaching for the remote control to turn on the TV. He rarely watched television and knew nothing about the programs.
"Choose whatever you want to watch." After turning on the TV, he handed her the remote.
Before knowing Easton’s true identity, Lily Turner always felt a sense of intimidation around him. Now that she knew he was the illustrious Easton Holmes, that feeling had intensified.
Being alone with him at this moment, aside from intimidation, she also felt a bit awkward.
The illustrious Easton Holmes was actually her husband, her legal husband; wasn’t this a bit too unbelievable?
"What are you thinking about?"
Seeing Lily holding the remote without changing the channel for a long time, Easton looked at her with curiosity. It was then he noticed she was staring at the TV in a daze, seemingly deep in thought.
Hearing Easton’s voice brought Lily back to reality. She glanced at him sitting beside her and mechanically started flipping through the channels.
Currently, she had no mood to watch TV. Her mind was a bit chaotic, a bit restless, and it was difficult to calm down quickly.
"I need to go to the restroom, where is it?"
As Lily spoke, she had already placed the remote on the sofa and quickly stood up.
Unaware of the situation, Easton thought she really had an emergency, so he promptly stood up and raised his hand to point the way, "The second door over there."
"Thank you!"
Briefly thanking him, Lily hurriedly walked towards the direction Easton pointed. She desperately needed a quiet place to calm down, lest she grows more agitated.
Once inside the restroom, she immediately locked the door from the inside. But thinking about the events from a few hours ago, she suddenly felt locking the door was useless.
That man could open the lock in a second, so what would she do at night when she went to sleep? Could she sleep safely and soundly?
Lily contemplated sleeping alone in the guest room at night, but Easton didn’t give her the chance. At bedtime, he directly pulled her into the master bedroom.
"I can sleep in the guest room." She turned to leave, but after just one step, he grabbed her hand.
"You’re not a guest here; you’re my newlywed wife, the mistress of this house."
Easton held her hand as they walked inwards, and if it weren’t for considering her pregnancy, he would have just carried her off.
With each step further inside, Lily grew increasingly anxious and blurted out in desperation, "I’m used to sleeping alone, it’s hard for me to accept having another person lying next to me."
With a man who could devour her any minute lying next to her, how could she sleep peacefully and securely?
