When Charles Thompson and Amber Wood saw the text messages and photos in Lily Turner's phone, the couple had completely different reactions. The former's face turned livid with anger, while the latter silently curled her lips in a smile.
Lily Turner observed the changes in the couple's emotions keenly. She wasn't surprised by their reactions. She always knew Amber Wood didn't like her, but she never understood why.
"You brat! How could you do such a disgraceful thing?" Charles Thompson angrily slapped the empty spot beside him. He immediately picked up his phone to dial Henry Thompson's number, but just as he was about to put the phone to his ear, Amber Wood reached out and snatched the phone from his hand. He was displeased and puzzled, "Why did you take my phone?"
As he spoke, he reached out to grab the phone back from her, but she deftly dodged to the side.
Amber Wood hung up the call that had just connected and replied to Charles Thompson's question, "You have to trust your son. If he's doing this, he must have a reason."
The girl in the photo looked nice. It was unclear which family she was from, but Amber intended to take advantage of this rare opportunity to push the girl in front of her out.
"What reason could he have? He's just being irresponsible and fooling around." Charles Thompson extended his right hand toward Amber Wood, his eyes on the phone tightly gripped in her hand, "Give me the phone back."
He couldn't allow this to happen. He had carefully chosen this daughter-in-law, and he wouldn't let his son fool around.

Just then, Charles Thompson's phone suddenly rang. Amber Wood brought it to her eyes and saw the name Henry appear prominently. Without thinking, she hung up the call, and to prevent the person on the other end from calling back, she directly turned off the phone.

The call came so abruptly that, even though Charles Thompson guessed it was Henry Thompson calling, he hadn't seen the caller ID and had to be cautious. It wouldn't be good if he started shouting and it turned out to be someone else.
Henry Thompson didn't know what was happening on this end, but the previous call was too abnormal. He sensed something was wrong, "Dad! It's me!"
"I don't care where you are now, come home immediately!" Charles Thompson said sternly. After finishing, he didn't wait for a response from the other end before abruptly hanging up the call.
