As Lily Turner hesitated about calling Luke Crowe, Jenny York sent her another voice message. Hearing Jenny's somewhat manic ridicule, Lily was so angry her lips turned pale.
Damned Jenny York, actually cursing her to be blacklisted.
Without further hesitation, Lily found the number she had just seen and immediately dialed back.
When Lily's call came through, Luke Crowe was in Easton Holmes's office, reporting on the status of a recently completed task. Because he had dialed the number many times earlier, he recognized it immediately.
"Boss! It's a call from Miss Turner."
Luke didn't dare conceal anything and truthfully reported the situation to Easton Holmes. After reporting, he held the phone silently, waiting for orders from the man sitting behind the desk.
Upon hearing this, Easton Holmes's brows creased slightly, and his thin lips parted slightly: "Answer!"
He uttered just a single word, but it was enough to convey his intention clearly.
After receiving the order, Luke didn't dare delay and immediately answered Lily's call. By now, the phone had already rung a second time.
"Hello! How are you?" He politely greeted as he picked up the phone.
"Hello!" Lily also responded politely, pausing for a moment before continuing, "I want to meet your boss..."
"You want to meet our boss?!"
Luke had assumed Lily was calling about the door lock code, but he never expected her to make such a request. So surprised, he couldn't help but exclaim aloud.
Hearing Luke's exclamation, Easton Holmes's eyebrows furrowed slightly. Seeing him frown, Luke thought he was angry and quickly offered an apologetic smile.
"There are some things I want to discuss with him face to face. Can you help pass the message to him?" Lily had no confidence because she didn't know what kind of person she was about to meet.
However, she could see that this man wasn't easy to talk to and seemed quite dangerous, but it was precisely this danger that she found appealing.
Luke didn't dare to agree or refuse lightly, so he pulled the phone away from his ear, covered the mouthpiece with his hand, and asked, "Boss! Miss Turner said she wants to discuss something face to face with you."
He watched the man sitting behind the desk without blinking. Based on what he knew of his boss, he was not one to meet women casually, but this time he wasn't sure what his boss would do.
"Tell her I'll be waiting for her at Scenic Garden Apartments at 5:30 tomorrow afternoon." Easton Holmes's response was so unexpected to Luke that his mouth opened in an 'O' shape with surprise. Seeing his expression, Easton Holmes's face darkened, "Why is your mouth open so wide? Are you waiting for me to stuff a bomb in it?"
Is this a sign of a cover-up?
Hearing Easton Holmes's words, Luke snapped back from his shock and, without further hesitation, placed the phone back to his ear, "Miss Turner! Hello! Our boss said he'll meet you at Scenic Garden Apartments at 5:30 tomorrow afternoon."
He hadn't fully recovered from his earlier surprise, but he had to convey his boss's message to the person on the other end of the line. He didn't want to be punished, as his boss's gaze was none too friendly.
