"Do you want her to stay for a live broadcast?"
As Easton Holmes slowly turned around, he looked at Lily Turner, who was standing at the elevator door questioning him, with a cold, expressionless face.
Lily was already intimidated by Easton, and now seeing him staring at her with no expression, she dared not say anything more. The words that were about to leave her mouth were swallowed back as he turned. She silently glanced at him and turned to face the elevator door.
Even as she stood with her back to him, Lily could still feel Easton's gaze. Under the flash of camera lights, she never felt nervous, but facing this man now, she felt incredibly tense and uneasy.
Just as Lily was about to break under Easton's gaze, the elevator finally reached the floor they were heading to. The moment the elevator doors opened, she rushed out first, not caring if he followed her out. She quickly walked toward the apartment.
As Lily was about to enter the passcode, Easton came over. Seeing him approach, she instinctively stepped aside to make way for him at the door.
Understanding Lily's gesture, Easton didn't stand on ceremony. He raised his hand, entered the passcode, and pushed the door open.
Lily didn't immediately follow him in. She stood outside, taking a deep breath. After hesitating for a moment, she finally walked through the door, closing it out of habit once inside.
When she entered, he had already moved to the living room. She hesitated for a moment and then walked towards him in the living room.
Easton sat on the couch with his legs crossed, silently watching as Lily came in, his face remaining as expressionless as before.
Under immense pressure, Lily braced herself and sat down at a distance from Easton. To break the unbearably oppressive awkward atmosphere, she reluctantly spoke first, "Hey! Could you not..."
"My name is Easton, thank you!" Easton abruptly interrupted Lily, who was awkwardly calling out, guiding her to use his first name.
"Hmm? Oh! Mr. Zheng! Could you take back this apartment?" At first, Lily didn't understand what Easton was saying, and after a pause, she assumed he was referring to a person named Zheng Qing instead of Easton.
"Once I give something away, I won't take it back."
Easton did not correct Lily's misunderstanding of his name and let her continue to misinterpret.
He had anticipated she might want to discuss the apartment with him, so her words didn't surprise him at all, but rather displeased him.
Because Lily had already heard similar words from Luke Crowe before, hearing Easton say it made her appear calm. She had her thoughts and continued to talk about the apartment, "I don't want this apartment; I want money."
The apartment was valuable, but she didn't have the courage to sell it, much less the ability to sell it at the high price it was bought for. She had thought long and hard and realized that returning the apartment to him was the only way to get more money.
The money from selling the apartment, plus the breach-of-contract compensation from Henry Thompson, should be enough to fill the funding gap for the film. To ensure those two scum couldn't succeed, she decided to put her pride aside and do this.
"This apartment is very valuable and still has room to appreciate." Easton had guessed the beginning but not the end, and this situation caught him by surprise.
