When Easton Holmes called, Emma Crowe had just finished dinner and was getting ready to go back to her dorm to rest. Hearing that he wanted her to bring the medical kit to see him, her first thought was that he was injured, and she immediately had someone drive her over. But upon arrival, she was surprised to find an injured woman, none other than the most popular female celebrity at the moment.
"Hello!"
Emma hadn't had time to change into civilian clothes because she came in a hurry. Lily Turner had never seen a soldier in uniform before, and she thought the military look was particularly striking. As she greeted Emma, she wore a smile of envy on her face.
If she had only been guessing earlier, now Lily was quite sure this man wasn't some big boss of the Dark Empire.
Standing beside her was a female military doctor. Lily used to dream of becoming an angel in white, donned in green military attire. However, for the sake of a man, she had given up that lifelong dream. Now, she felt her past choice was foolish.
"Hello!" Emma Crowe took the medical kit off her shoulder and sat down beside Lily Turner. She looked down at Lily's feet, "Which foot is injured?"
"The right foot!"
Before Lily could speak, Easton Holmes, standing beside them, answered for her. His direct intervention surprised both women sitting on the couch, prompting them to look up at him. He, however, remained completely composed and natural, staring calmly at Lily's foot.
What's the relationship between this woman and the leader? Why does the leader care so much about her?
Emma glanced at Lily, then proceeded to closely examine her injured right foot. Upon inspection, she found that while Lily's foot wasn't injured down to the bone, the surrounding soft tissue was affected.
"It's not a bone issue. Just spray some anti-inflammatory medicine and rest for a couple of days." Indeed, the big star seemed fragile, making such a fuss over such a minor injury, Emma thought inwardly with dissatisfaction.
"I told you it wasn't that serious, yet you insisted on calling the doctor over," Lily blurted out, chiding Easton Holmes after hearing Emma say her injury was not severe. She didn't notice anything wrong with her words and quickly turned to Emma, saying, "Thank you!"
What?!
Was it the leader who insisted on calling her over?
This information genuinely surprised Emma. Their leader usually didn't show such concern. Even when female soldiers were injured, he never displayed any care, recommending light injuries continue training and sending severe cases directly to the hospital.
"You're welcome, it's what I should do." Despite her surprise, Emma didn't forget to respond.
Lily didn't say anything more, just gave Emma a silent nod and smile.
"Leave the required medicine behind."
As Emma prepared to spray medicine on Lily's injured foot, Easton suddenly spoke up. The subtext of his words was clear: leave the medicine, but you may go.
"Yes!"
The subtext in Easton's words was so apparent that Emma couldn't pretend not to understand. She wanted to feign ignorance to stay a while longer but feared that doing so might get her into trouble with the leader. The leader wouldn't discriminate between male and female soldiers when it came to punishment.
Emma left the necessary medicine, shouldered her medical kit, and reluctantly left. As she stepped out the door, she heard her leader behind her call out, "Don't talk about this outside."
